With Yorkshire having a bye in the last round of fixtures in the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League, a huge thirty-four point’s lead on second placed Lincolnshire meant they already had one hand firmly on the winners silverware, the final results basically a mere formality, and that is how it turned out as Lincolnshire lost 20-16 away to their nearest rivals, third placed Lancashire to confirm Yorkshire as champions with 229 points, Lincolnshire runners-up with 211 points and Lancashire third on 210 points. Warwickshire completed their programme with a convincing 24-12 win away to London, their 209 points just two short of the runners-up position.
As a result of their final home defeat London took the wooden spoon, finishing bottom of the table with 154 points and joining them in the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division next season will be Hampshire whose last game of the ten match season saw them lose 23-13 at Essex to finish next to bottom of the table.
Although Lincolnshire lost 20-16 at Lancashire their Jenson Walker topped the men’s ‘A’ averages with a tremendous 34.36 in his 4-2 win against Lee Wilson (Lancashire), the men’s ‘B’ award going to Hampshire’s Ryan Groves who had a 29.35 average in his 4-1 win over Essex player Ray Ambrose. For the ladies, London’s Lauren Bloomfield had a superb 25.47 average in her 3-0 success over Kirsty Hinchliffe (Warwickshire) while the ‘B’ award went to Cornwall’s Courtney Hancock (20.88) in a 3-0 win over Dorset’s Sarah Chick.
Although Suffolk went into the final game of the season in the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division with a slender one point advantage over second placed Sussex and Sussex won their home fixture with Humberside 20-16, a 21-15 win at Oxfordshire was enough for Suffolk to clinch the title by just two points with Sussex runners-up on 223 points. Humberside’s defeat saw them finish just outside of the promotion places in third place with 206 points.
Derbyshire finished their campaign at home against Cheshire the result an 18-18 draw to leave them bottom of the division with 168 points. A 24-12 home win over Kent was just too little too late to save Staffordshire as the finished next to bottom of the Championship table with 172 points, eleven fewer than Gwent just above them.
A fantastic average of 35.79 by Cheshire’s Bradley Brooks saw him top the men’s ‘A’ averages, Brooks winning 4-0 against Derbyshire’s Simon Birkett. The best ‘B’ average of 30.17 was achieved by Kent’s Scott Artiss in his 4-3 victory over Staffordshire’s Elvis Fenton. The top ‘A’ and ‘B’ average for the ladies went in turn to Northamptonshire’s Rebecca Rose (26.37) and Lexi Jayne Rooksby (19.90) who defeated respective Clwyd players Ceri Stephens and Cheryl Vodden.
Middlesex have been there or there about at the top of the L-Style Division One table for the majority of the season and a final 19-17 victory at Black Country was enough to secure Championship darts next season as their 230 points was eight more than runners-up West Midlands who finished the season with a 21-15 win at Leicestershire. Clwyd final 24-12 home win over Devon was not quite enough as their 220 points were just two fewer than West Midlands to see them finish third.
Buckinghamshire and Cleveland will both be playing division two darts next season. Buckinghamshire’s final 19-17 defeat at Somerset seeing them finish bottom of the table on 152 points while Cleveland went down 20-16 at Merseyside to give them a total of 161 points, nine behind Devon who are just above them.
Tom Bissell (Black Country) had the top men’s ‘A’ average of 31.69 in his 4-1 win over Josh Hook (Middlesex), the ‘B’ award going to Cam Crabtree (Middlesex) who averaged 28.63 in his 4-0 win over Wayne Hobday (Black Country) and it was Middlesex again to take the ladies ‘A’ award as Wendy Reinstadtler beat Tammy Chance (Black Country) with a 22.00 average. The ladies ‘B’ award went to Somerset’s Zoe Liddle who with a 21.17 average and 3-0 result accounted for Buckinghamshire’s Gerry Johnson.

Warwickshire County Darts organisation wnt into their final fixture of the season in the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League fourth in the table with a total of 182 points, some thirteen short of second placed Lincolnshire. Travelling south to the Plumstead Common WMC, 71 Kirkham Street, Plumstead, London SE18 2JS they took on London who were desperate for points as they lay bottom of the division with 142 points.
The homes side were quickest out of the blocks in the ladies ‘B’ encounter with their Lauren Burgess winning 3-1 against Chloe McKivett-Saunders, however their lead didn’t last long as Warwickshire’s lady of the match Donna Pinch beat Kelly Livett 3-1 with a 20.46 average to level the game before Clare Greenwood gave the visitors the lead for the first time when she won 3-2 against Nikki Wise. A 3-1 win for Tammy MacKenzie (London) over Jodie Rigg restored parity for a second time and then for a second time the home team went ahead when Lynne Biondini added her 3-1 win over Sue McClennan to their tally. The final game went to Nina Bolt, winning on her 100th appearance for Warwickshire, 3-0 against Emma Smith to put the final score all-square at 3-3.
The opening four games of the men’s ‘B’ match all went against the first throw advantage, Dan Collis putting London one up when he won 4-2 against Dave Hill. Mark Carter levelled the game when he won 4-1 against Charlie Little, only to see the hosts go 2-1 up when Geoff Mortimer beat Ryan Jackson 4-3 with both players having throws at doubles to win the game. For a second time Warwickshire drew level, this time thanks to a straight 4-0 win from Samuel Price over Dave Cook. Game five saw the sequence broken when Adam Hancock gave the away side the lead for the first time in the game as he came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to beat Ray Johnson 4-2. By the midway point the score was level at 3-3 after John Walton (London) closed the half with his 4-0 win over Lee Miller.
As the second half got underway Warwickshire went ahead again, Mark Faulkner wining 4-1 against Dean Buckland and with another Mark, this time Mark Strong, who not only beat David Payne 4-2 but earned himself the match award in the process for his 25.80 average. Karl Reynolds assured Warwickshire of at the worst a share of the points when he took their lead to 6-3, winning 4-3 against Jake Clifford, Reynolds fighting all the way after trailing 2-0 and 3-1 to go on and win the game. Jnr Joyce (Warwickshire) won the first leg against Harry Kelly but the 4-2 result went to London player Kelly. The last two games of the day both went to Warwickshire, both of them straight 4-0 results with Mark Martin winning against Josh Morris and Zac Prince beating Luke Ellis to give a final score of 8-4 to Warwickshire.
As Sunday’s games got underway, Warwickshire were holding an 11-7 overall lead, Marian Conway adding to that lead when she opened up the ladies ‘A’ match with a 3-2 win over Nikki Patten. A similar 3-2 result for the home team’s Debs Watling over Caroline Pike levelling the game. An award winning display from Wendy Adams when she won 3-0 against Mandy Solomons and averaged 22.77 gave the away team a 2-1 lead and with a further 3-2 win from Hannah Meek against Tammy MacKenzie, the away side were guaranteed a share of the spoils. A share of the spoils was not going to be the outcome though as in the penultimate game Natalie Gilbert won 3-0 against Carly Townsend to put the score beyond London’s reach as Warwickshire were now 4-1 up. The last game went to London as Lauren Bloomfield won 3-0 against Kirsty Hinchliffe to put the result at 4-2 to Warwickshire.
With a 15-9 lead, the men’s ‘A’ now required just four winners to give them an overall victory for the weekend. The first four games were shared with London taking the lead twice and then being pegged back twice to level terms. David Wawrzewski and Lee Cocks put the hosts ahead with their respective 4-3 and 4-2 wins over Martin Tonks and Noel Grant, replying for Warwickshire were Wayne Mynard and Sam Whittaker who won 4-3 against Nick Cocks and Tommy Sanwell. Game five was the first time the visitors got their noses in front and it was Matty Washbrooke who gave them a 3-2 lead with his 4-2 win over Matt Wood and with a further 4-3 win for Jack Wareing over Craig Watkins, the score at the midway point was 4-2 to Warwickshire and the win for the weekend secured.
The away team went further ahead as the second session got underway, Kevin Dowling beating Tom Riding 4-1, Nigel Heydon winning 4-1 against James Malcher and Danny Lauby also having a 4-1 result in his game with Jamie Tilley. With the score at 7-2 Wayne Brown pulled one back for the home team when he won 4-0 against Gareth Braham but the final score was taken to 9-3 in Warwickshire’s favour when Steve Hine won 4-3 against Gene Hill and man of the match Jamie Hughes accounted for Graham Rackstraw with a straight 4-0 win and award winning average of 31.81.
The overall 24-12 win for the weekend was not enough to lift Warwickshire any higher in the table, but they should be encouraged by the fact that finishing fourth in the top division their 209 points were just two fewer than runners-up Lincolnshire.

Because West Midlands had their opening fixture of the season in the L-Style Division One postponed until February 2025 they were always playing catch-up, one result behind the majority of teams above them, however with eight wins in their last eight games they climbed the table and gained promotion finishing as runners-up with 222 points just eight short of champions Middlesex.
West Midlands final game of the season was an away fixture against Leicestershire. Hannah Davies gave the ladies ‘B’ the best possible start when she won 3-1 against Lisa Deslandes and took the match award for her 16.70 average, only to see the hosts then win the following four games to put the result beyond West Midlands reach. Caroline Newberry won 3-1 against Claire Hobbs, Trish Roberts and Angela Lenton in turn won 3-0 against Julie Emery and Tara Simmons-Fullwood and with a 3-1 success for Ella Coburn over Jacqueline Simmonds, the home side were in an unassailable 4-1 lead. The last game saw Jodie Rowlands make the score a little more respectable when she won 3-2 against Kirsty White to give a final score of 4-2 to Leicestershire.
Leicestershire drew first blood in the men’s ‘A’ game when their Janek Hill beat Mark Craddock 4-0. That however was to be the only game the hosts would win in the first half as Ash Khayat and Rob Thompson both won 4-3 against their respective opponents Nigel Ward and Ian Turner. Dean Simmons-Fullwood won 4-0 against Derek Allsopp, Shane Price beat Tyler Beasley 4-1 and rounding off the first half Cameron Baird won 4-3 against Scott Brookes to put West Midlands 5-1 up.
A share of the points was assured as early as the first game of the second half as Martin Price won 4-1 against Jamie Brown and although David Barker reduced the arrears for Leicestershire with his close 4-3 win over Ian Stanton, the win was achieved in the very next game when man of the match Will Beaden won 4-0 against Paul Hughes with a 27.08 average. The last three games all finished with 4-2 results and all went to the home team, Neil Pullen, Michael Hibbert and Grant Brown in turn defeating Neil Pointon, Karl Hughes and Kieran O’Mahoney to put the final score at 7-5 to the visitors.
Leicestershire were first off the mark in the ladies ‘A’ game, Mem Martin-Jones winning 3-1 against Tara Simmons-Fullwood, but despite the early setback West Midlands then stormed into an unbeatable 3-1 lead as Kat McLean won 3-0 against Rebecca Collins, Jacqueline Trott beat Liz Brunt 3-1 and lady of the match for the Midlanders, Evonne Taylor won 3-0 against Paula Swain with a 20.59 average. A 3-0 win for Shannon Reeve over Shellbie Simmons kept the hosts in the match but a final 3-0 success for Jacqueline Maiden over Kelly Welsh wrapped up a 4-2 win for West Midlands.
Two 4-2 wins saw West Midlands go two up as the men’s ‘A’ match began, Richard Platt and Jon Platt in turn beating Paul Ablett and Ricky Sudale. A 4-1 win for Thomas Mackay over Glen McGrandle halved the deficit for the hosts only to see their opponents then add a further 4-1 win by Jack Aldridge over Martin Giddings to restore their two games buffer. Ryan Hawkes was the home side’s second winner, beating Dean Simmons-Fullwood 4-1 before the score was taken to 4-2 to the West Midlands at the break when Gavin Baker beat Scott Hope 4-3.
West Midlands began the second half with a win, Callum Parkes winning 4-3 against Matthew Dickinson and although Andrew Hibbert took the score to 5-3 with his 4-0 success over Karl Hughes, the visitors then romped to an 8-3 lead thanks to wins from Ryan O’Connor who won 4-0 against Darren Tyler, man of the match Dan Nicholls who had a 31.11 average in a 4-1 win over Paul Harbourne and Paul Price who accounted for Adam Marziano with a 4-2 result. The final game of the weekend went to Leicestershire, Jason Lole winning 4-0 against Ian Jones to put the result at 8-4 to West Midlands.
The overall score for the weekend was 21-15 to the West Midlands to secure promotion to the Championship next season.

Black Country went into their final fixture of the season in the L-Style Division One knowing that despite being placed fifth in the divisional table, their 191 points were only nine short of their neighbours and second in the league West Midlands, so promotion was still a mathematical possibility and in their home tie with leaders Middlesex they required as big a win as they could attain, but playing against the divisional leaders was never going to be an easy task.
With a lady of the match performance in the opening game by Grace Angell, Black Country could not have asked for a better start, Angell winning 3-0 against Leah Nelson with a 16.70 average. As the first game went against the first throw advantage so did the following three games. Louise Grannell had a 3-1 win over Sarah-Jane Parker to level the game only to see the hosts go ahead in the third when McKenzie Raine Thomas won 3-2 against Christie Scott. Restoring parity for a second time was Hayleigh Shaw who beat Lacey Hughes 3-0 to take the score to 2-2. It was at this point the sequence changed and Middlesex went ahead for the first time when Leanne Palmer added her 3-0 win over Kirsty Shaughnessy before a final 3-2 win for Sindy Stiles over Paige Robbins to give Middlesex the 4-2 result.
The men’s ‘B’ began with five winners in the opening five games the quintet of wins all started by opener Mark Jones who beat Tom Dallender 4-2. Then with a similar 4-2 result Sam Bissell beat Andy Turnbull to put the home team two up, which was increased when Rob Smith made it win number three with his 4-1 result over Frankie Collopy. Taking the score along to 4-0 was Rich Bowen who accounted for James Smith with a 4-2 scoreline before Ian Townsend made it 5-0 with his 4-3 win over Scott Robertson. The last game of the first half saw Middlesex get the first stripe on the board when Pat Gleghorn beat Andy Garratt 4-3.
Middlesex began the second half as they finished the first half with a win, Brian Green adding his 4-1 victory over Al Smith to their account. Martin Greenwood’s 4-1 win over George Wilkinson assured the home team of a share of the points before Cam Crabtree added third win for the visitors when he beat Wayne Hobday 4-0. The win came in the ninth game when man of the match Adam Edgar won 4-2 against Chris Grannell with a 25.94 average. The last two games both went the full seven legs distance with Edgar Znutins (Middlesex) beating Mark Rollinson and Jake Shipley (Black Country) winning against Owen Carr to give a result of 8-4 to Black Country.
It took just the opening three games of the ladies ‘A’ match for Middlesex to storm to an unbeatable 3-0 position, Lisa Brosnan and Vickie Kiely in turn winning 3-0 against Amy-Leigh Tolley and Stella Sims followed by a 3-1 success for Wendy Reinstadtler over Tammy Chance. Chez Allcock stopped the Middlesex charge when she won 3-1 against Margaret Sutton and with a 3-2 win and 17.72 average for lady of the match Heather Wright over Hayleigh Shaw, Black Country were still in with a shout for a draw. Unfortunately it was not to be as Michele Copas (Middlesex) won the last game against Maxine Prosser 3-1 to give the away team a 4-2 victory.
The first half of the men’s ‘A’ match turned out to be, in itself a game of two halves as Black Country opened up a 3-0 lead thanks to Michael Powell, Kieron Bridgwater and Paul Wells who in turn won against Ian Bartlett (4-2), Cam Crabtree (4-3) and Brandon Pearson (4-0) before Middlesex won the last three games of the half as Allen Bond, Nigel Prior and Martin Lukeman defeated respective opponents Cayden Smith (4-1), Harry Williams (4-3) and Trev Brennan (4-2).
Middlesex went 5-3 up as the second session got going, Matty Finch beating Dan Homer 4-2 and Tim Green wining 4-1 against George Willetts. Tom Bissell put a halt to the Middlesex progress as he earned himself the match award for his 31.69 average and 4-1 win over Josh Hook and with a 4-3 win for Aaron Colley against Harvey Wilkinson, parity was restored in the tenth, but with a 4-0 win for Aaron Beeney over Jamie Barrowman and a 4-1 success for Joshua Burksfield over Jamie Rollinson, the 7-5 result went to Middlesex.
With an overall 19-17 defeat Black Country finished their campaign in the same fifth place as they were before their game against Middlesex and with a total of 208 points were twenty-two short of their title winning opponents and fourteen behind runners-up and neighbours West Midlands.
