In division one of the South West Birmingham Clubs League Newbridge, in their home game against Stirchley United WMC found themselves on the wrong side of a 5-2 result. Barry Thomas was in form for the victors as he registered not only a 121 finish but also a maximum and an eight darts leg. E57 were another team to lose at home going down 4-3 to Selly Oak Flights.
In division two Stirchley Wanderers chalked up a 7-0 whitewash against Tascos Social, while Tascos Flights, in division three had a 5-2 success over Allens Cross Arrows. Bournbrook Arrows had a comfortable 7-0 win in their away game with Moseley Cricket Club, with Les Orton hitting a 180 for the Arrows.

Robert Earl continues to dominate in the Brookmeadow Individual League. Earl had a 2-1 win over John Goodman and followed that with a 3-0 victory over Dave Downes to give him a total of 47 points from ten games and in the process has dropped just three legs. Mark Elkin and Gordon Clinton stay on the heels of Earl in joint second position. Both players had similar results to Earl 2-1 and 3-0. Elkin beat Gareth Lomas and Trevor Frost, while Clinton accounted for Ricky Lawrence and Alan Smith.
Hitting maximums this week were Pat Koyce, Mark Elkin, Brendan Lysaught and Robert Earl.

Congratulations go to Highwood’s B.Nixon and J.Sidwell who with a final 2-0 win over T.Randell and T.White (Saltley Amateur Gardeners) have lifted the Sheldon and District Winter League’s Doubles title.
In the semi’s Nixon and Sidwell took out J.Prince and C.Horsley (Fordbridge Social) and Randell and White beat J.Pears and P.Stevens from Fordbridge Social.

The Small Heath League have been engaged in the finals of their Knockout Cup and Upside Down Cup. In the Knockout Cup Victoria 301 Club too the honours with a 6-3 win against Innisfree (Red Devils Club). On the mark for the champions were Chris Stokes, Micky O’Sullivan, Graham Nailor, Doc Ryatt, Eamon O’Sullivan. Winners for Innisfree were Dave Carter, Noel Cook, Nigel Ricketts and Sheila Carter.
With wins from Jim Probert, Ian McLean, Alan Caddick, Kevin Maloney, Darren Brown and Dave Brown, Custard House won the Upside Down Cup. Once again the margin of victory was 6-3, with McVeighs having to be content with the runners up prize.
Jim Haveron, Eddie Bullock and Richard Hogan were the three McVeighs winners.

There were good 6-3 wins for Midland Red and Allens Cross over respective opponents Ladywood Social and Hobsons Choice in division one of the Harborne and District Summer League. 7-2 was the biggest scoreline in division two provided by the Pheasant, with a 161 checkout from L.Brinton beat Old Mill ’A’. M.Tibbetts (Quinborne) bettered that with a maximum 170 finish despite his team losing 5-4 to Travellers Rest. Coopers Arms, with a 180 from M.Warr and 160 breaks by G.Butler and R.Mann, defeated Quinton Members Club 5-4.
