Both Warwickshire and West Midlands play in the second of their nine match season in the BDO Inter Counties Championships this coming weekend. Both teams have home fixtures and following their opening 21-15 defeats will be looking to register their first win of the campaign.

In division three West Midlands will play hosts to Devon.

Steve Cain is the early pacesetter in the Belgrave Sports and Social Individual League. With 28 points from five games Steve is two points ahead of the rest of the field. However, second placed Mick Chater has a game in hand on Cain and a win would see him take over in pole position.

Shock result of the week was provided by John Turner, who hit 4×100 plus a maximum in a 3-0 win over John Green. In the battle of the ladies Tracey Chater got the better of a 2-1 result against Denna Baker.

In a thirteen ton thriller leader Steve Cain hit 7×100 and 140 to beat Derek Mountjoy (5×100) 3-0.

Heartlands have extended their lead at the top of the Small Heath League to four points. In their home game against the Antelope, the leaders chalked up a convincing 7-2 win, while their nearest rivals before this week‘s games, Custard House, suffered a surprising 5-4 defeat at the Brewer and Baker, as a result of their loss Custard House have now slipped down to third place, with Victoria 301 Club taking over the number two spot. Victoria 301 travelled to the Black Horse and registered a 7-2 win.

Biggest win of the week went to the Great Western they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to bottom of the table Ward End Ex Service Club.

In the West Midlands Men’s Super League Warley, thanks to wins from Bob Carr, Frank Johnson, Jess Archer, Ade Arnold, Jason Lowe and Martin Tibbetts record a 6-3 win at Wednesfield. John Pountney, Darren Williams and Stuart Pinches replying for the home side.

In the ladies league there were 3-2 wins for both Willenhall and Wednesbury against respective opponents Great Wyrley and Smethwick.
