The Raven won a vital match in division one of the Harborne and District Summer League this week when with a close 5-4 result they accounted for Ladywood Social. It was not so much the beating of Ladywood, but more so the actual win and points they needed as now they have drawn level on eighteen points with leaders Midland Red, although the Red’s do have the advantage of a game in hand. Scoring well for Raven were, B.Davenport with 3×100, 140, J.Good 120 break, 145, T.Hamilton 112 break, 100 plus J.Hands and T.Parsons who both hit a couple of tons.

Smethwick Labour Club have won the division two title, but who collects the silverware for the third division is still to be decided. Coopers Arms 6-3 win over bottom of the table Stonehouse has taken them into pole position with 22 points. Second placed Harborne Stores are just two points behind with a game in hand. Harborne have the better average of the two top teams and it would take a massive 9-0 defeat for them to finish level on points and average with Coopers. However, Harborne’s match in hand is against Stonehouse and the odds for the championship must well and truly be stacked in their favour.
