After completing 21 fixtures only four points separate the top two players in the Belgrave Social Individual League. Two 2-1 wins over Richie Baker and Darren Jones gives leader Steve Dwyer a total of 92 points, while Scott Mitton, currently in second place had a 3-0 success against Mick Smith and 2-1 wins over Steve Hawkes and Gordon Clinton.

Mark Slater was in fine form in his game with Steve Cain jnr hitting two maximums and recording a fourteen darts leg in his 3-0 victory. John Green went one better, chalking up a thirteen darts leg against Steve Cain snr as he also won in three straight legs. Gary Mills was another player to record two maximums, beating Ian Gould 2-1 in the process. Holding up the flag for the ladies was Dawn Barnes, who despite losing 3-0 to Darren Jones scored a maximum.

The quarter finals of the Mrs F. Richman Trophy have been on the agenda for the Sheldon and District Summer League. Of the four fixtures, three finished with 5-2 scorelines. On the winning side were Three Horse Shoes, Sheldon Heath Dukes and RAFA, who all won at the expense of respective opponents Saltley Amateur Gardeners, whose T.White hit a maximum, Yardley Ex Service and Banbury Club.

Biggest winners of the round were Shard End RBL Flights who defeated the Old Bill and Bull 6-1.

The Sheldon and District Winter League will be holding their first meeting for the 2003 / 2004 season this coming Sunday at the league’s headquarters, Lea Hall RBL at 10.30am. Anyone wishing to enter a team should be represented at this meeting.

In the Small Heath league leaders Heartlands Club were surprisingly held to a close 5-4 win by bottom of the table Black Horse, who are yet to win their first match in seven outings. Second placed Custard House had a more comfortable 7-2 win at Ward End Ex Service Club and remain two points adrift of Heartlands, but with a game in hand, Victoria 301 Club hold on to third place despite suffering a shock 8-1 defeat against the Antelope and as a result are now two points behind the leaders.

Two rearranged division two fixtures were played in the Longwood league. Plough and Harrow consolidated their number one spot with a 5-3 home success over third in the table Three Horse Shoes and in the other game Cue Sports Club chalked up a 5-3 win at the Mercian.
