Black Country had a fantastic start to their beginning in county darts last season running away with the division three title beating runners-up Gloucestershire by some 22 points but they have found life in division two a little more of a trial as they suffered their first-ever county defeat when they kicked off their season with an away game against West of England.
The weekend began badly as the ladies ‘B’ lost 4-2 and the men’s ‘B’ 9-3 with Grace Angell (15.85) and James Hykin (24.75) taking the respective match awards.
Sunday’s ‘A’ match results were much better as the ladies finished level at three each with Steph Konya (20.72) the top lady and Dan Nicholls (29.18) the top man in the men’s ‘A’ 9-3 victory to give a final overall score of 20-16 in favour of West of England.
