The Sheldon and District Summer League have had the quarter-finals of their League Cup on the fixture card which saw both of the top two group one teams progress to the semi-finals. Group one leaders Raven Arrows had a 5-2 win over Willclare Sports and Social Club who are top of group two while second in group one Langley Arrows won by the same 5-2 margin playing away against fellow group one side Iron Horse Rebels who are bottom of the group.
Second in group two Yardley Ex Colts played away to second from bottom of the same group Irish Centre and returned with once again a 5-2 result and making it four out of four 5-2 results was Maggies who are currently next to bottom of group two, they played and beat Hornet who are next to bottom of group two.
The draw for the semi-final which kept the top two group one teams apart will be played on neutral boards on Thursday 8th September is, Maggies versus Raven Arrows and Yardley Ex Colts versus Langley Arrows.

Just the four results from the Kings Norton League this week which saw only two of the top five teams play but despite that there is no change in the league table for the top eight sides. Although there was no result for either the leaders Rubery Social Club or second placed Copper Fox, Rubery who have played nine game and have 16 points hold on to pole position with Copper Fox two points behind them after completing eight games. Third placed Bournebrook have reduced the arrears on Rubery to four points after they won 5-2 at home against Longbridge. Fourth placed Thurlestone are on the same twelve points as Bournebrook but have only played seven games their latest seeing them win a close home tussle with sixth placed Northfield 4-3. Thurlestone, like the Rubery Social Club and Copper Fox have only lost one fixture so far and with wins in their games in hand could go top of the table. E57 are fifth in the league and there was no result for them this week.

Northfield Town and Bugle Horn took their unbeaten records in the Harborne and District League to three games and although Northfield Town hung on to their number one spot they had their average lead cut to just one solitary leg after they won 7-2 playing away to next to bottom of the table The Mill and second placed Bugle Horn went one better with an 8-1 success away to Weoley Castle WMC, as result of their defeat Weoley Castle WMC have lost their third spot and drop four places to seventh, on the same four points as Smethwick Cricket Club who have replaced them in the number three position after they won their home game with Copper Fox ‘M’ 8-1. Copper Fox ‘R’, Bourneville Social and Northfield Conservative Club are also all on four points. Copper Fox ‘R’ beat Cock Inn 6-3, Bourneville Social won 7-2 against Avenue Social and Northfield Conservative Club won by the same 7-2 margin at The Mill.

No change in the top three places in the Camp Hill League with leaders Aston Inn Nomads adding a 5-2 home win over Peaky Blinder in week eleven, second placed Tyesley Bears winning 6-1 at Sedgemere Devils and third placed Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club also adding a 6-1 win over Moseley Arms to their tally. Aston Inn Nomads have a perfect twenty points from their ten games while Bears and EBAHA in turn are on eighteen and sixteen points respectively, both having played eleven games. Tyseley WMC have been replaced in fourth place by Clumsy Swan after they lost at home 4-3 to Clumsy Swan who are now two points to the good and with a game in hand on their hosts.

It was cup week in the Sutton and District Summer League, the semi-finals of their Prestridge Shield and Roy Bird Shield. In the Prestridge Shield Golden Hind Lions who top division two had a notable 6-3 win at Red Lion who are three places off the foot of the division one table. In the other fixture division one outfit Old Oscott Arrows beat their division two opponents Rosey Mac’s 6-2.
In the last four games of the Roy Bird Shield division one leaders Bishop Vesey progressed into the final with a 7-2 win against Erdington Arrows from division two. Vesey’s final opponents are yet to be named as there is no result so far for the Nomads versus Pint Pot Flights all division one encounter.

It’s as you were for the top four teams in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League as top side Labour Club won their home tie with Black Horse 6-1 to make it nine consecutive wins and remain two points ahead of second placed Ten Arches who were 5-2 winners at Fox Inn (Lye). Third placed Bird in Hand ‘E’ are one of three teams on fourteen points, they won their home game with Bell ‘B’ 6-1 and making up the top four is Hollybush who also won 6-1 at home against Shovel. Due to their fefeat Fox Inn (Lye) drop one place to sixth on twelve points and two behind Stourbridge FC whose 4-3 win at Dudley Sports sees them takeover from Fox Inn in the number five spot.

There were 6-1 wins for the top two teams in the Silver End Sunday Morning League in game eighteen, leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club winning at home against Kings Head ‘A’ while second placed Old Star won at New Talbot and although Old Star kept within four points of the Ex Serviceman’s Club they have played one game more than their rivals.
Three points behind Old Star is Dudley Sports who lost the opportunity to draw even closer as they were held to a 4-4 draw at home by Bell ‘A’ who are placed fourth and two points behind their hosts. Although three points adrift of Old Star, Dudley Sports do have a game in hand on them and also have a superior average.
At the other end of the table bottom placed Kings Head ‘B’ chalked up their first win in eighteen games when they won their home fixture with Crestwood 5-3, however despite the win Kings Head ‘B’ remain rooted at the foot of the table on three points five short of the team just above them Black Horse ‘A’.

Amazingly after completing twent-two fixtures only average separates the top three teams in the Rowley Monday Night League, Bell, Clock (Whiteheath) and Plough and Harrow are all on 38 points. In the most recent fixtures Bell kept their title hopes going and did their average no harm whatsoever with an 8-1 win at Windmills End, however second and third placed Clock (Whiteheath) and Plough and Harrow also handed out 8-1 defeats in turn to Hare and Hounds and Roost.
After the top three comes Gate Hangs Well whose 7-2 home win over Three Diamonds leaves them six points behind the top three but two ahead of both White Swan and Cradley Sports and Social, White Swan have played one game fewer than the teams above them.

Scott Baker has played twenty-three fixtures in the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League and although he has drawn one he has won all of the rest, twenty-two win from twenty-three games. Baker’s latest victims were Reece Cook-Lucas who he beat 7-1 and then Gemma Barrett Jenkins, to whom he handed an 8-0 defeat. The recent two wins take Baker’s points tally to 213 and give him an incredible 49 points lead over second placed John Simms who only played the one fixture this week, which he won 7-1 against Ray Gutteridge.
Just three points behind Simms with a game in hand is Jon Blakemore who like Simms played just the one game which saw him hand Neville Quinton an 8-0 defeat. Fourth in the league Ben Johnson is only five poins behind John Simms and has three games in hand after adding this week’s two wins over Steve Lynch 5-3 and Adam Teasdale 7-1.

In the last game of the first half of the season Vine ‘A’ dropped out of the top six places in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League when in game number twenty-one they lost 4-3 playing away to league leaders Waggon and Horses. The win keeps Waggon and Horses six points clear of Dewdrop ‘A’ in second place after they were the week’s biggest winners with a 7-0 success away to bottom of the table Tamebridge. The defeat for Vine ‘A’ sees them drop to sixth in the table eighteen points short of their hosts.
Third in the league Miners Arms ‘B’ suffered a shock 4-3 defeat at Vine ‘B’ who are just three places off the foot of the table, Miners ‘B’ hold on to third place but are now ten points off the top.

Nick Fullwell has extended his lead at the top of the Ashwood Premier League to 46 points following his 6-1 win over Mark Glaze and 7-0 success against Jayden Harper. Chris Williams didn’t play this week and as a consequence drop one place to third with Dave Simpson replacing him in the number two spot. Simpson began his night with a 5-2 win over Jayden Harper but then suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat to Neil Murphy followed by a second 4-3 loss against Chris Fox. Despite the two losses Simpson moved up to second with 239 points one more than Chris Williams with both players having played 46 games.
Fourth and fifth placed Geoff Marson and Chris Fox have in turn points totalling 219 and 217 but both players have five games in hand on Williams and Simpson and four on Fullwell.

In week twenty-two of the Black Country Thursday Night Singles League leader Nick Fullwell had a mixed bag of results as he kicked-off the evning with a 4-4 draw with Paul Harrison, who is nine places below him in the table and a huge 117 points adrift on points tally. Fullwell then beat Nick Whitehouse 7-1 and finished the evening suffering a 5-3 defeat against former leader and currently fourth in the table with games in hand Graham Hall. Jamie Hughes played catch-up reeling off four wins in as many games when he beat Stella Sims 8-0, Jason Lowe 5-3, Graham Hall 5-3 and Nick Whitehouse 8-0 to see him move up into second place on 293 points, just one short of Fullwell with four games in hand.
Graham Hall as stated is fourth in the league and in addition to his defeat to Hughes and win over Fullwell he also won 8-0 against Danny Knight to put him on 263 points, thirty behind Hughes and thirty-one less than Fullwell but he has four games in hand on Hughes and eight on Fullwell.

A 6-1 win over Red Lion (Wednesfield) keeps Railway top of the singles division of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League with 24 points. Woodfield and Gilbert’s Bar have swapped places with Woodfield taking over in second place following their 4-3 win at Cleveland Arms and Gilbert’s Bar dropping one place to third after having a bye. Both teams are on 20 points with Woodfield having the slightly better average. Fourth in the division ECC had a close 4-3 win at Moreton Arms but they have played one game more than Woodfield and Gilberts and are four points behind them.
In the doubles division Hurst Hill held on to pole position with a 2-1 win over Jack’s Bar and remain two points to the good on their nearest rivals ECC who won their game against Moreton Arms by the same 2-1 margin.
