After having their last game in the Elite Premier Division of the UKDA National League away to Glamorgan cancelled due to COVID restrictions, this coming weekend Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will resume play with a home tie against Northamptonshire. With five wins from the five games played Warwickshire are enjoying a very successful season so far and there is no reason why that winning run should not be extended as they are currently in a third position on 123 points with a game in hand on the two teams above them while their visitors are bottom of the division with 85 points.

Selected to play for Warwickshire are, Men’s ‘A’:- Tom Aldridge, Jamie Atkins, Gareth Braham, Kevin Dowling, Steve Giddings, Noel Grant, Steve Hine, Prakash Jiwa, Tom Martin, Ian McFarlane, Ian Shaw, Jack Wareing, Men’s ‘B’:- Carl Green, Dave Hill, Dave Honey, Mark Martin, Wayne Mynard, Will Naylor, Karl Reynolds, Mark Strong, Darren Swords, Mark Tomlinson snr, Martin Tonks, Matty Washbrooke, Reserves:- Mark Carter, Adam Hancock, Scott Hope, Jamie Hughes, Lee Miller, Carl Winters, Women’s ‘A’:- Natalie Gilbert, Sue Gulliver, Angela Jones, Chloe McKivett, Tammy Montgomery, Donna Pinch, Women’s ‘B’:- Wendy Adams, Nina Bolt, Marian Conway, Melanie Jones, Denise Keyte, Caroline Pike, Reserves:- Lucy Keyte, Sue Maclennan.

In the AON Championship Division of the UKDA National League West Midlands, like Warwickshire also had their previous fixture cancelled a home game against Hertfordshire, West Midlands are not enjoying the best of seasons so far with just one win and one draw from their five games and this coming weekend they will have another tough task as they travel to take on divisional leaders Kent who are currently on 134 points compared to West Midlands, who have played one game fewer but some 51 points behind their hosts and lying in an uncomfortable next to bottom of the table position.

After a home draw with Salopian followed by a bye in the last round of fixtures in the Darts for Windows Division Three of the National League, Black Country, who have held pole position for the majority of the season are currently in second place one point behind new leaders Gloucestershire. However a quick return to the number one spot could be on this coming weekend as Black Country travel to take on Breconshire who are just two places off the foot of the divisional table while Gloucestershire have a tougher home tie with Northumberland who are placed third in the division.

The results for the eighth fixtures of the season in the Sheldon and District Winter League produced just one change in all of the three divisions, the premier division and division one remain exactly the same as before. All of the top four teams won in the premier leaders Dunky’s Boys handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their hosts and fifth in the division Iron Horse Flights. Second placed Sheldon Marlborough Arrows are on the same 14 points as Dunky’s after their 8-1 success over Hornet and third placed Langley Arrows, who are also on 14 points won 6-3 at Mackadown Social.

Division one leaders Sheldon Dukes suffered their first defeat in eight games when they somewhat surprisingly lost 5-4 at home to Shirley Misfits, however the Dukes hold on to the top spot with 14 points four more than second and third placed Kingshurst Labour Club and Hollywood Social. Kingshurst won their home tie with Meadway Sports and Social 6-3, Hollywood Social having a slightly closer 5-4 success in their home game with Maggies.

Division two saw the week’s only positional change as second and third placed Journeys End and Langley Flights swapped places as Journeys had their fixture with Small Heath Gardeners cancelled and Langley won 9-0 against Hampton and Solihull CC to overtake Journeys on average, both teams are on 12 points two adrift of leaders Willclare Sports and Social who won 7-2 against Sheldon Marlborough Ridge.

Fourth placed Highcroft Social also fell further behind and are on the same 12 points as Red Lion after losing 5-4 at Walmley CSC Flights.
