This coming weekend at the Plumstead Common WMC, 71 Kirkham Street, Plumstead, London SE18 2JS, Warwickshire will be playing their final game of the season in the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League, an away fixture against London. Going into the game Warwickshire, with 182 points are placed fourth in the divisional table and their hosts who already have one foot in the Andy Fisheries Championship for next season are bottom of the table with 142 points. So on current form the win should go to Warwickshire which could see them finish higher than their current fourth place.

In the L-Style Division One of the UKDA National League West Midlands have their final fixture away to Leicestershire at the Enderby and District Social Club, 22-24 Coleridge Drive, Enderby, Leicestershire, LE19 4QF. West Midlands are currently second in the table with 198 points while their hosts are four places below them with 190 points, a win for the West Midlands could well see them promoted back to the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division, however third placed Clwyd, who are just five points behind West Midlands, have a home game against Devon, who are placed ninth in the division with 158 points, thirteen above the relegation zone, so a big win for Clwyd could see them overtake the Midlanders if they slip up.

In the same L-Style Division One of the UKDA National League, Black Country have a tough final home fixture against current divisional leaders Middlesex, who with 208 points have a ten points advantage over their nearest rivals West Midlands. Although a difficult fixture, Black Country can still not be ruled out of the promotion race as with 191 points they are only seven points behind their local rivals and second placed West Midlands. There will be pressure throughout the weekend for both Black Country and West Midlands. What a finale!!

The Sheldon and District Winter League have had their Doubles and Singles Knockouts finals on their fixture card and in the former, winning their way through to the last four were Tom White and Terry Webster, Neil Parsonage and Dave Howlett, Tom Garfield and Bobby Nixon and Ben Liggins and Jack Alexander who in turn took out Ben Proctor and Matt Morgan, Warner and Richard Palmer, Dave Reid and Dirk Baker and Dave Cherry and Nathan Wykes. In the semis Parsonage and Howlett won against White and Webster and joining them in the final were Garfield and Nixon who beat Liggins and Alexander. The eventual champions were Tom Garfield and Bobby Nixon who won the final against Neil Parsonage and Dave Howlett,

In the quarter-finals of the singles knockout Tom Garfield beat Sam Hicks, Stuart Reeve won against Bobby Nixon, Neil Parsonage defeated Andy Newman while Stephen Shepherd had a bye. The semi-finals saw wins for Stephen Shepherd and Neil Parsonage who in turn accounted for Tom Garfield and Stuart Reeve. In the final Stephen Shepherd defeated Neil Parsonage.

The quarter-finals of the League Cup was the order of the day for the Kings Norton League, there were just two somewhat surprising results, one being the 4-3 win by second from bottom of the table Longbridge, who have six points, beating Kings Norton Flights, who are three places above them with sixteen points and the other with a similar 4-3 result seeing ninth placed Perfection winning against third in the league Bournebrook. Second in the league Copper Fox, with a maximum from E.Simpson won 5-2 against fourth placed Bourneville. In the game between Greenlands and Stirchley there was a maximum for each of them, R.Waldron for the former and M.Welsh for the latter, the all-important 4-3 result going to fifth in the league Greenlands, Stirchley are sixth.

The latest results for the Harborne and District League saw no change in the top seven places in the league table, league leaders Northfield Conservative Club consolidated their top spot by adding an 8-1 home win over Lion Bar to keep them four points ahead of both second and third placed Copper Fox ‘R’ and Northfield Darts Club, Copper Fox ‘R’ winning 8-1 at Bourneville and Northfield Darts Club going one better by handing their visitors, bottom of the table Windsor Complex, a 9-0 whitewash. Fourth in the league Copper Fox ‘M’ are six points off the top but with a game in hand after adding their latest 7-2 home win over fifth placed Smethwick Cricket Club

Finding the three treble twenties this week were, M.Lloyd (Northfield Conservative Club), M.Bolton (Weoley Castle WMC), K.Jukes (Copper Fox ‘M’) and R.O’Neill (Weoley Castle).

The South West Birmingham Clubs Summer League have got their new season underway and setting the pace in division one is Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’ who kicked off their campaign with a 6-1 over local rivals Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’. Northfield Darts Club and Stirchley United in turn had 4-3 wins over Quarry Lane Club and Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club.

The early leaders in division two are E57 whose opening game of the season saw them win 6-1 at West Heath CEM, second and third placed Bournbrook and Longbridge in turn had 5-2 wins over Perfection and Bartley Green FC.

With the Four Oaks and District League fast drawing to an end, rearranged fixtures have been the order of the day. In division one Nomads @ Hollyfields played away against Plough and Arrows and returned on the right side of the 6-3 result to see them not only replace Highcroft Hotdogs at the top of the table but to clinch the divisional title with thirty-two points plus with a game still to play. In the other division one fixture Walmley CSC Flights had a 5-4 win at Bishop Vesey to see them move up and take the runners-up spot with Highcroft Hotdogs dropping to third with a lesser average than Walmley, both teams having thirty points and having completed their fixtures.

There were three division two games played, champions Drakes Drum having a 5-4 win at Beggars Bush to see them finish on thirty-six points, eight more than runners-up Erdington Arrows. St Thomas Arrows finished their season without a win in their twenty games, their final one seeing them lose 8-1 at Deer’s Leap. The remaining game saw sixth placed Pint Pot Flights win 6-3 at home against third in the division Rosey Mac’s.

The Netherton Thursday Night 501 League staged the second leg of the semi-finals of their League Cup and winning their way through to the final were Bulls Head with an overall 13.5 win over Hill and Cakemore Ex Serviceman’s Club and joining them in the final will be Old Liberal who had a similar 13-5 aggregate win over Plough and Harrow. M.Abbott (Plough and Harrow) hit a maximum.

In the second leg of the Shadow League Cup semi-finals British Oak had an overall 14-4 win over Rose and Crown 2 while Townsend Social Club took out Spring Meadow Social with a 10-8 aggregate.

Old Liberal Club made it fifteen wins in as many games in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League when they won away against Gigmill, a somewhat surprisingly close 4-3 result as Gigmill are fourteenth in the league and some twenty- points behind their opponents. Nevertheless the win keeps Old Liberal Club two points ahead of second placed Gornal British Legion who won their home game with Crestwood 6-1. After the top two there are three teams all on twenty-four points, six off the top, and they are Glasscutters ‘A’, Five Ways and Ten Arches ‘A’. Glasscutters ‘A’ and Five Ways both chalked up 7-0 wins, the former at Queens Head and the latter at home over Mount Pleasant, however Five Ways have played one game more than the three teams above them. Ten Arches ‘A’ had a closer 4-3 success in their game at Bird in Hand.

The Silver End Sunday Morning League played off round two of their League and Shadow League Cups. In the main League Cup the game between Pensnett Liberal Club ‘A’ and Union finished level at 4-4, Uniion winning the deciding game to go through to the next round. Joining Union in the next round will be Old Star who won 5-3 against Tenth Lock.

There was just the one game in the Shadow League Cup which saw New Talbot ‘A’ win 7-1 against Pensnett Liberal Club ‘B’.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club’A’ now have one hand on the winners silverware in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League, as after their latest 9-0 win at Tommy Turner’s ‘B’ they have a huge eight points lead over second placed Bridge who were 7-2 winners at Pensnett Liberal Club ‘B’, Bridge have played one game fewer than the leaders. Third placed Maverick had a bye this week, they are two points short of Bridge but have played one game more than them,

The Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League have begun their new capaign and have swelled their numbers this season by two, making it eighteen teams in the starting line-up. Beech Tree Miners got their season off to the best possible start winning 7-0 at home against Stourbridge FC ‘B’. The other eight winners on opening night were Raven, Bird in Hand ‘E’, Hollybush, Stourbridge FC ‘A’, Swan, Chop House, Old Liberal Club ‘A’ and Wheatsheaf.

As the Rowley Monday Night League reached the halfway point of its season the last results of the half had no effect on the league table whatsoever. Wonder completed the half undefeated winning their seventeenth fixture at home against Rowley Labour Club 8-1 to see them hold on to a slender two points lead on their nearest rivals Bell, who had a closer 5-4 home win over Hawthorns ‘A’. After the top two there is a gap of eight points to Tividale FC, Plough and Harrow and Snooks who are all on twenty-four points. Tividale FC lost ground as they went down 6-3 at Romsley Cricket Club whose J.Bland had a 160 break. Plough and Harrow won 7-2 at the Vine and Snooks were 5-4 winners at Tividale Sports. M.Meacham (Hawthorns ‘A’) hit a maximum.

Leaders of the Black Country Men’s Super League, Quarry Bank Liberal Club, were held to a close 3-2 win at home by Townsend ‘A’ but still have a three points lead on second placed Allen’s Bar ‘A’ after they won their home game against Northfield Darts Club 5-0. Third placed Soccer Zone ‘A’ lost ground as they went down 3-2 away to fifth placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club leaving them on nineteen points, the Ex Serviceman’s Club on seventeen but with a game in hand on the four teams above them.

Although Evonne Taylor didn’t play this week in the West Midlands Ladies Super League she remains top of the table with 104 points from 26 games. Second placed Gemma Barrett had a 3-2 win over Claire Hobbs to put her on 99 points from 29 games while third placed Jacqueline Maiden began well with a 3-1 win over Sarah Barrett but then lost 3-2 to Kat McLean to leave her on 95 points from 28 games.

There were just two resilts from the West Midlands Men’s Super League this week which saw leaders Kings Head increase their lead to eight points with a 5-0 success over Junction ‘B’. The other game played saw Landywood beat William Archer 3-2.

Jason Lowe continues to lead the field in the Amblecote RBL Premier League, the latest round of fixtures seeing him win 4-3 against third placed Ian Townsend and then beat Ian Kelly 5-2 to give him a total of 239 points from 36 games. Nick Fullwell replaces Townsend in second place after he also beat Ian Townsend, 5-2 and then won by the same margin against Grant Jackson to leave him on 210 points from 34 games.

A 6-2 win over Brian Dolman sees Scott Baker take his unbeaten run to fourteen games in division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League. Baker tops the table with 116 points, 12 more than second placed Chris Manoila who beat Dave Lopez 6-2, Manoila now having played two games more than Baker.

Michael Smith leads the way in division two taking his total points to 117 despite being held to a 4-4 draw by Andy Mullinder. Smith has a clear twenty point’s advantage over his nearest rival Wayne Barratt after he went down 6-2 to Alex Owen who is currently in the bottom half of the table.

Division three leader Olly Garratt was held to a 4-4 draw by John Bate this week but his 122 points are still 18 more than second placed Keogh Bate who won 6-2 against Warren Bower and then handed out an 8-0 whitewash to Dave Akers.
