Four games into the new season in the Kings Norton League and just three of the starting line-up of twelve teams are able to boast a 100% win record. Copper Fox with a convincing 6-1 home win over Toby Jug continue to lead the field on average with Rubery Legion hot on their heels trailing by only five legs of average after they reduced the legs deficit slightly by handing out a 7-0 whitewash to their visitors Kings Heath who drop two places in the table to seventh. Third placed E57 had a 6-1 win away to Bournebrook, however as yet they have only played three fixtures, one fewer than the two teams above them.
The Cock Inn moved up three places in the table to sixth following their 5-2 win at Rubery Social Club but trail the leaders by four points.

Four of the five fixtures played in division one of the Four Oaks and District League had a 6-3 result including the top of the table clash between Boldmere St Mikes and Old Oscott Arrows. Boldmere held top spot as they played hosts to their nearest rivals Old Oscott Arrows with the result going in favour of the home team to keep them in pole position with a perfect total of six points from their three games, they are now the only team with an undefeated record in the top division.
In addition to second placed Old Oscott Arrows being two points behind the leaders so are Red Lion, Erdington Arrows, Golden Hind and Highcroft Social. Red Lion lost 6-3 at Golden Hind, Erdington Arrows winning by the same margin at Oscott Social Club while Highcroft Social’s home tie with Golden Hind Lions was the only result that wasn’t 6-3 and saw the hosts win 5-4.
In division two, leaders Bishop Vesey lost their home game with second placed Heartlands 5-4 to see the two teams swap places in the table, the new leaders the only team with a 100% win record in the division.
At 4-2 down, bottom of the table Rosey Mac’s staged a comeback at Erdington Flyers, recovering and going on to win 5-4 to move up one place from the foot of the table.

Tippetts Bar suffered a setback to their title hopes in division one of the Shirley and District Monday Night League when they lost 5-4 playing away to third in the table Lodge and as a result have been ousted from their number one spot and drop to second place behind new leaders Dunky’s Boys who had a comfortable 8-1 win at Saracens Misfits. Only average separates the top three teams with all three of them on eight points.
There was a first win for Cider House as they played away to Bears and beat them 5-4, but despite the win remain at the foot of the division.
Highwood, hold on to the number one position in division two after their close 5-4 win at fourth in the division HSCC. Second placed Vikings were 7-2 winners at Solihull Municipal to put them on the same eight points as Highwood.

The Camp Hill League had cup and league fixtures this week. In the League Cup there was a 5-2 win for Meadway Social at Peaky Blinder while the Consolation Cup game produced a similar 5-2 win for Tyseley Newbies at Moseley Arms. In the re-arranged league fixture Aston Inn Nomads hosted Tyseley WMC and beat them 4-3 with no change in the league table positions whatsoever.

Copper Fox suffered their first defeat of the season and lost their two point’s advantage at the top of the Harborne and District League when they went down 5-4 at home to fourth in the table Northfield Town. Copper Fox now have just a superior average advantage over both Northfield Conservative Club and Bugle Horn, the former winning their home fixture against Smethwick Cricket Club 5-4 while the latter had a convincing 8-1 win at Weoley Castle WMC. Both Northfield Conservative Club and Bugle Horn have only played four games and won all four compared to Copper Fox having played five and lost one.

The top two teams in the Netherton Thursday Night League squared up to each other in game number six, leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club beating their hosts and rivals Townsend Social Club 6-3 to open up a three points lead for the Ex Serviceman’s. Week two of the Stourbridge Monday Night League saw early leaders Britannia wind up on the wrong side of a 6-1 result at home to Glasscutters ‘A’ who have replaced them in pole position, Britannia dropping six places in the table to seventh. Seven Stars, Ten Arches and Lion are the only other teams in the league that have won both of their opening two fixtures, Seven Stars winning 6-1 at home against Hare and Hounds, Ten Arches having a 5-2 result at Gate Hangs Well and Lion were close 4-3 winners at Church Tavern.
At the other end of the table Glasscutters ‘B’ recorded their first win in two beating Woodman 4-3 to move away from their previous next to bottom position and up four places. Old Bulls Head consolidated their top place in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League by handing their visiting team Pensnett Liberal Club a 9-0 whitewash. For the second time in seven games former leaders Gornal Labour Club lost, on this occasion it was 5-4 defeat at Lamp Tavern who are just three places off the foot of the table. The Labour Club drop to third place behind New Inn whose 6-3 home win over Red Cow leaves them within two points of the leaders.

COVID-19 has had a dramatic effect on the Stourbridge Wednesday Night League which has seen its number drop from nineteen prior to the outbreak to nine. Nevertheless the league is once again up and running and after the opening two fixtures it’s Bird ‘E’, with 6-1 results against Fox Inn (Lye) and Glasscutters ‘B’ top the table with their local rivals Bird ‘A’ providing the nearest threat after they chalked up 5-2 wins over both Raven and Ashwood.
The only other teams to not to have lost so far are Glasscutters ‘A’ and Ten Arches ‘B’, both have only played one fixture, Glasscutters beating Ten Arches ‘A’ 5-2 and Ten Arches ‘B’ winning 4-3 against Glasscutters ‘B’.

Steve Jones moves ever closer to the top prize of £310 in the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night League as in week 27 he added a further 5-3 win over seventh in the table Shane Price to his tally to give him a total of 197 points from 24 games. Steve Lynch has moved up into second place with 189 points from 25 games after he won 7-1 against Lee Quarry and then 5-3 against Simon Pritchard. Lynch is twelve points to the good on third and fourth placed Jamie Webb and Ben Johnson, Webb losing ground as he lost 6-2 to Martin Price, but Ben Johnson added a 6-2 win over Shaun Hartopp followed by a 7-1 success against Kris Jones. He now has two games in hand on Webb and Lynch and one in hand on leader Jones.
