Warwickshire County Darts Organisation’s woes continue in the Premier Division of the BDO Inter County Championships as they followed their opening home defeat of 23-13 to Yorkshire with a 25-11 loss away to Cornwall. This latest defeat has seen Warwickshire drop to the foot of the table on 26 points, seven short of the team above them Essex.
The Cornwall game saw both ladies teams lose 4-2 with Natalie Gilbert and lady of the match Sue Gulliver (20.96) the two winners for the ‘A’ side, Chloe McKivett and Melanie Jones were the ‘B’ team winners with Melanie taking the match award for her 17.43 average.
The men’s ‘A’ team followed up their opening day 9-3 win with a 6-6 draw, Jamie Hughes the man of the match with a super 30.33 average as he kicked off the game with a 4-3 win over Dennis Bryant coming from 1-0 down to win with winning legs of 18,16,12 and 15 darts. For the ‘B’ side it was misery once again as for the second successive fixture they lost 11-1 with Dave Hill their sole winner to take the match award with his average of 23.11.
