The Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be playing their second of nine fixtures in the BDO Inter County Championships this coming weekend when they play away to Cornwall at the Mount Charles Social Club, Clifden Road, St Austell, PL25 4NX.

Warwickshire are just one point short of their hosts after they lost their opening fixture against reigning champions Yorkshire 23-13 and Cornwall lost 22-14 at Northamptonshire, a win against the newly promoted team could see Warwickshire kick start their season and move well up the table.

In Division One of the BDO Inter County Championships West Midlands will be looking to follow up their opening 22-14 win over Cambridgeshire and extend their lead at the top of the promotion table with a further win when this coming weekend they travel to take on local rivals Staffordshire.

The last time the two teams met was in the 2015-2016 season when both teams were in division two, again playing on Staffordshire’s board where West Midlands won 20-16.

Before the Shirley Legion Double Top League’s end of season presentation there was a challenge game between the two players who finished at the foot of the table with the prize being a return of their £20 entry fee.

In the best of three legs it was Lee Holtham who collected the £20 with a win over Lee Lattimer.

In addition there was a pair’s knockout with partners drawn randomly. The semi-finals produced two 3-0 results as Sean Talbot, who hit a maximum, and his partner Dave Heighway defeated Steve Harper and Tony Daly and Jack Barrows and Lee Harris accounted for Antony Daly and Steve Heeks.

With both teams not dropping a leg in the last four a close final was expected but it was not to be as Talbot and Heighway repeated the 3-0 result over Barrows and Harris to collect the £52 top prize with the runners-up receiving £18.

In the Premier Division of the Sheldon and District Winter League Mackadown Social suffered their first defeat in three games when they lost 5-4 at home to The Raven leaving Highwood Gerry’s Boys the only team with a 100% win record as they added their 7-2 success away to Sheldon Dukes to their tally to keep them top of the table on average from Langley Arrows whose 6-3 home win over East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association was their third win in four games.

Hornet and Lyndon Old Boys have both won all of the games they have played so far in division one, Hornet’s fourth fixture saw them win 5-4 away to third placed Shirley Misfits to put them top of the table with 8 points while second in the division Lyndon Old Boys who also won 5-4 in their tie with The Dingle are two points behind Hornet with a game in hand.

Holy Souls lead division two, they are the only team in the division to have won all of their games the latest being a 7-2 success at Inn on the Green who are placed third on four points. Meadway Sports and Social are second two points adrift of the leaders following a 7-2 home win over Hampton and Solihull CC.

Dunky’s Boys hold on to their two points lead at the top of the Shirley and District Monday Night League after they beat Saracens Misfits 7-2. Highwood in second place had a 6-3 win at HSDT to keep them in the title race and two points to the good on third in the table The Lion whose 5-4 home win over Bears leaves them with a game in hand on the two teams above them.

There was a tight top of the table clash in the Small Heath League with leaders East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association playing hosts to their nearest rivals Heartlands Club. The home side opened up a 3-1 lead before the visitors fought back to go 4-3 up but it was E.B.A.H.A. who got the final 5-4 decision to keep intact their 100% win record after ten games and also open up a four points lead over Heartlands who remain in second place.

The League Cup was on the agenda for the Camp Hill League and saw league leaders White Swan Nomads earn a hard fought 4-3 win over Wandering Wagon who are next to bottom of the league table without a win.

Joining the Nomads in the next round will be Peaky Blinder who are bottom of the league without a win in their four games, but a 4-3 success against Sedgemere Devil’s Club puts them in the hat for the next round. Also winning through were New Inn, Emerald Club and Roost Rebels who in turn defeated North Star (5-2), Sheldon Marlborough Flights (6-1) and Tyseley WMC (4-3).

Week 11 was a good week for leaders of the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League Brickmakers Arms as they chalked up their eleventh win in as many games when they won 6-3 away to Gate Hangs Well who as a result dropped two places to fifth while Brickmakers extended their lead to four points as the chasing team Britannia went down 5-4 away to Bird (Stourbridge) who moved up one place in the table to fourth.

There were 7-2 wins for the top two teams in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League as leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ won away to Swan and second placed Roebuck beat bottom of the table King William to keep within two points of the Ex Serviceman’s Club.

Third in the league High Oak were 6-3 winners at Bull and Bladder but with 44 points are six off the top of the table.

The Rowley Monday Night League had 3 A-Side Knockout finals on their fixture card and in the Top Half final the trio of M.Hadley, A.Cowley and T.Johnson (Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’) beat M.Tedstone, K.Hopton and M.Perkins from the George,

The Shadow League final was an all Three Diamonds affair and produced a win for M.Crumpton, J.Archer and S.Davies over team mates M.Harding, J.Harding and D.Bourne.

There was no changes in the top three places in the Kings Norton League as leaders Avenue C.Fox won 6-1 against Grant Arms who slip two places to sixth, second placed Rubery RBL won their home tie with Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club 7-0 to remain two points behind Avenue and third in the league Bournbrook, who have played one game more than the two teams above them and are a further two points adrift on 16 points won 4-3 at Coppice.

A 7-0 win at Kings Heath has seen E57 move into fourth place on 14 points with a game in hand on the top two and two games in hand on Bournbrook who are just two points ahead of them.

It was a close 5-4 win at Fairfield but nevertheless it was another three points for Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club who lead the Netherton Thursday Night League. Riddins Tavern are second in the table but even after their 7-2 win against Netherton Conservative Club they are still six points behind the leaders and have played two games more than them.

Woodside ‘A’ have extended their lead at the top of the Silver End Sunday Morning League to six points after they won 6-2 at High Acres and second placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club lost ground when they were held to a 4-4 draw away to the Bell who are in the bottom half of the table. The Ex Serviceman’s Club’s second place is now in jeopardy as third in the table Glasscutters ‘B’ drew level on 46 points with them after they beat Brickmakers Arms ‘B’ 6-2 and with a game in hand could replace them in the number two spot.

A 7-0 win at Hayes Social has kept Tipton Sports within two points of the Vine leaders of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League, however the Vine’s 4-3 win at Miners Arms was their twenty third game and they could increase that lead as they have played one game fewer than Tipton Sports.

At the other end of the table there was a rare win for bottom placed Wonder whose 4-3 victory over Horseley Tavern, who are some three places above them, was only their fourth win in 24 games.

The Cradley Tuesday Night League were involved in their 5 A-Side Knockout and winning through to the next round were Brickmakers Arms ‘A’, Netherton Sports and Social Club A/C, Wheatsheaf and Plough who in turn took out Roost ‘A’, Roost ‘B’, Gate Hangs Well and Netherton Sports and Social Club A/B.

Just one final rearranged fixture was played in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League which saw Netherton Cricket Club ‘A’ beat Miners (Wollescote) 5-2 to lift them above High Oak and finish third in the table on the same 26 points as High Oak but with a superior average.

Nick Fullwell leads the new Ashwood Premier League and began week 11 with a 7-0 win over Stuart Quarry, he then won 5-2 against Chris Manoila and finished the evening as he began with a 7-0 win, this time against Adam Glazzard to take his points tally to 159. Chris Williams beat Mike Cullis 6-1 but it wasn’t enough for him to hold on to second place as Connor Pickett played three catch-up game in which he won 7-0 against Stuart Aitkens, and 5-2 against both Matt Davies and Mark Bayliss to give him a total of 139 points, eleven more than Williams in third place.

As early as the third week and only five of the starting line-up of nineteen teams in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League are able to boast an unbeaten record, Ashwood ‘B’ added a 4-3 win away to Gate Hangs Well to their account to put them level at the top of the table with King Arthur who won 6-1 at Church Tavern ‘A’. Close behind, trailing only on average are Wilson Hall who made it three straight wins with a 4-3 success over Brickmakers Arms.

Swan ‘A’ are third they handed The Bell a 7-0 whitewash in what was only their second game of the season and the only other team not to have lost are sixth in the table Ten Arches ‘B’ who like Swan ‘A’ have only played two, the latest of which they won 5-2 at the Plough.

Week two in the Pip Club League and leading the Combined Division is Belgrave Sports and Social Club who like Dolphin Wanderers, Birchmoor Club and Dolphin have all won their opening two games.

There were wins for the top four teams in the week ten of the West Midlands Men’s Super League leaders Woodside Inn leading the field with 65 points after a 5-0 victory over Gilberts Bar. Reigning champions Allen’s Sports Bar ‘A’ added a a similar 5-0 win against their ‘B’ side to give them 59 points just one more than third in the league Yeltz Bar ‘A’ who won 4-1 at The Bell.

A 4-1 win at Gunners Club saw ECC Sports and Social Club record their third win in ten but still leaves them just out of the top half of the table.

Gilberts Bar, Wolverhampton staged their first darts knockout which attracted an encouraging 61 players and paid out some top prize money.

The semi-finals saw Daniel Lee beat Dan Nicholls 5-0 while Mark Hylton was taken to a deciding leg by Alex Long before booking his final place with a close 5-4 verdict.

The final, like many of the game before was another top class affair with Hylton getting the better of Lee with a 6-3 result to take the winners prize of £500 with Lee receiving £200. There was £50 each for the losing semi-finalists Dan Nicholls and Alex Young while the losing quarter finalists Justin Evans, Connor Pickett, Ian Jones and Adam Edgar each picked up £25.

In the first round losers Plate Knockout Andy Jervis was the winner and collected £50 with runner-up Chris Hill getting £25.

On the day there were two fabulous maximum 170 check outs from Derek Simpson and Neil Pullen.

With Railway having a bye in week 26 of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League the Bull took the opportunity in the doubles division to replace them in second place on average with a 2-1 win at Mount Tavern, the win giving Bull 34 points from 23 games while Railway, who are also on 34 points have only played 19 games.

A 7-1 win for C’s Hot Shots in week eight of the South Birmingham League over Smithswood has virtually confirmed them as Group two champions as they have a total of 15 points from eight games with two to play and their nearest rivals Centurian are on 11 points with three to play.

C’s Top Guns lead the way in Group two their latest 6-2 win over second placed Coleshill Social giving them an eight points advantage, however Coleshill have four games in hand.
