Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be playing their final game of the season in the Premier Division of the BDO Inter County Championships this coming weekend a home tie against Northamptonshire at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry, CV1 4JJ. They will be hoping for a big win to lift them a little higher than their current fifth position in the table and with their opponents dangerously close to the relegation zone that may not be too easy a task as they will be fighting to ensure survival. The home side with just one win, one draw and one defeat from their three previous home games this season will also be looking to better that statistic.

The Shirley Legion Double Top League staged the latest of their singles knockouts in which Mark Henderson, for the second consecutive week reached the final. In the opening two rounds he won 3-0 against Dave Heighway and Mick Bown. He then progressed to the semis with a 3-1 success over Craig Clarke and booked his final place with a close 3-2 win over Chris Thomas.

From the other half of the draw Jordan Ottley made the final for the first time with a bye in round one, a 3-2 win over Jack Barrows followed by a 3-1 victory against Steve Harper and then in a close 3-2 semi-final beat Sam Hicks.

Mark ran out the 3-1 winner in the final to make two successive wins in as many weeks.

A 6-1 win at Northfield took Avenue Social another step nearer the Kings Norton League title as after playing 23 fixtures they have a total of 44 points, two more than second placed Rubery RBL who have played one game more than Avenue. Rubery’s latest fixture saw them also win 6-1 playing away to Dingle. With games now running out it does look as though the top two places will be filled by the current top two teams with Avenue certainly looking to finish as champions with Rubery runners-up.

There was a rare win for next to bottom of the table Kings Heath whose 4-3 win over Bournbrook was only their fifth win in 23 games.

East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association have only lost one of their 23 games in the Small Heath League and have just two more to play, however their 7-2 win over Cob’s Bar in their most recent fixture almost guarantees them the title as they are two points to the good on second placed Heartlands Club with a game in hand. Heartlands had an 8-1 win over Emerald Club but for them to take the title off E.H.A.B.A. they would have to have a big win in their final game and their rivals would have to lose both of theirs by a huge margin.

Three teams Bears, Lodge and Dunky’s Boys took their undefeated run to four games in the Shirley and District Monday Night League. Bears and Lodge share the top spot level on points and average after in turn winning 5-4 against Lions and 7-2 at Plume of Feathers. Dunky’s in third place are just one leg of average behind the top two after they won 8-1 against Saracens Misfits.

Four teams Legion Flights, Wharf, Highwood and Saracens Misfits are just two points behind the leading trio.

There were just a couple of rearranged fixtures played this week in the Camp Hill League which saw White Swan Nomads move up into second place in the table just two points and one leg of average short of leaders Roost Rebels following their 6-1 win over Station Wagon.

In the other game played Wagon and Horses won 4-3 against Sedgemere Devil’s Club to draw level on four points with their opponents but after playing two games more than them.

It was top versus bottom in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League with leaders Brickmakers Arms securing the league title with an 8-1 win over Hare and Hounds ‘A’. The win gives Brickmakers a total of 80 points and a lead of eight points over second and third placed teams Ten Arches ‘A’ and Ten Arches ‘B’. Ten Arches ‘A’ had a close 5-4 home win over Bird (Wordsley) who are eighth in the table while their ‘B’ side had a more convincing 8-1 success away to ninth in the table Bird (Stourbridge).

The Silver End Sunday Morning League had the first leg of the first round of their Team Knockout on the agenda which produced a few somewhat surprising results. League leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club are undefeated in eight in the league but went down 6-2 at Brickmakers Arms ‘A’ who are eighth in the table. Fourth placed Glasscutters ‘B’ handed out a 5-3 defeat to second in the table Woodside ‘A’ and there was a 5-3 win for bottom placed High Acres over Bell, High Acres without a win in the league so far.

Other teams to carry a lead into the second leg are Dudley Sports, Brickmakers Arms ‘B’, Glasscutters ‘A’, Old Star and High Oak.

A 6-3 win for High Oak at Portway has seen them stay top of the Brierley Hill Monday Night League table but only by one leg of average over Roebuck whose 9-0 success over Fox and Grapes puts them level on points with High Oak and sees them take over the number two spot from Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ after they suffered a surprising 5-4 home defeat at the hands of Dudley Sports ‘A’ who move up one place in the table to fifth while the Ex Serviceman’s Club drop one to third now two points behind the leading duo.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club held on to their six points lead at the top of the Netherton Thursday Night League with a 6-3 win over Townsend Social Club while their nearest rivals Riddins Tavern had an 8-1 result at White Horse to stay three points ahead of Bulls Head who have a game in hand.

Netherton Conservative Club made it two wins in nine games with their fine 6-3 success against Fairfield.

All of the winners in week thirteen of the Rowley Monday Night League were against teams below them in the table. The top three teams Bell, George and Cradley Sports and Social Club all won 6-3. Bell with a fine performance from Trevor Brennan, who had a 160 break and hit a 180 won at Wonder, while George with a maximum from Mathew Tedstone accounted for Cottage, Cradley Sports and Social Club beat Hare and Hounds. Bell top the table with 26 points and lead George and the Sports and Social Club by four points.

An 8-1 win for Old Bulls Head against Jolly Crispin in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League took them another step nearer the league title as one more win from the remaining two games will clinch it for them. Currently Old Bulls Head with 44 points are only two ahead of Gornal Labour Club after their 6-3 win at Chainyard, however in addition to being two points adrift the Labour Club are also well behind the leaders on average. With an eight points advantage over third placed Coseley Tavern Gornal Labour will at the worst take the runners-up prize.

Leaders of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League The Vine had a bye this week but nevertheless held on to pole position with 20 points from 11 games. Three of the other top six teams all lost to teams below them in the table, however that was not the case for second placed Tipton Sports who had a 6-1 win away to Court House to remain the only team in the league with an undefeated record and put them on the same points as Vine with a game in hand.

Miners Arms slipped one place to fourth after losing 6-1 to Ivy Bush, Dewdrop ‘A’ replacing them in third place with a 5-2 win over Wonder. Sportsman dropped one place to sixth following their 4-3 defeat at Merry-Go-Round and Island Inn who were sixth drop to eighth after a 6-1 setback at Dewdrop ‘B’.

After playing their opening 18 games in the Main Division of the Pip Club League Bombay Bob’s Boys remain unbeaten, their latest fixture against Glascote Club seeing them win 8-1 to take them to a perfect 36 points. Second in the table Belgrave Sports and Social Club drew level on points with Bombay after handing out a 9-0 whitewash to their hosts Kettlebrook Club but they have now played 19 games, one more than Bombay.

In the Seeded Division One section Bombay head the division with 20 points, four ahead of Belgrave Sports and Social who have a game in hand. In the Seeded Division Two section Globe (Wilnecote) lead the field with 16 points two to the good on their nearest rivals Pip Club.

The Henley and District Winter League has completed all of its domestic fixtures, it’s been a very successful season with Studley Cricket Club winning all of their fourteen games. The Cricket Club finished six points ahead of runners-up Studley Conservative Club who for most of the campaign were hot on the heels of the champions but then faltered in the final run-in.

On the individual scene Kevin James (Studley Cricket Club) was the Players League Champion, while his team mates Dale Evans and Roger Allbut in turn won the most 180’s and highest break. The highest finish went to Alan Marsh (Wootton Bears) and the most tons was recorded by Dean Harris (Studley Conservative Club).

The Royal, Albrighton staged the latest of their knockouts the Royal Easter Knockout which saw Connor Jeffs (Selsey) collect the winners £100. Jeffs won the final against Sam Guest (Wednesfield) 6-2 with Guest receiving £50.

In the last four games Jeffs beat Steve Richie (Shifnal) 5-3 and Guest won 5-4 against Mark Lloyd (Wednesfield), both losing semi-finalists picked up £15.

Congratulations go to the Allen’s Sports Bar ‘A’ side of Iain Mathers, Scott Baker, Dan Nicholls, Nick Fullwell, Adam Edgar, Alfie Jacques, Mat Tedstone, Matt Dicken, Ash Hykin, James Hykin and Lewis Law who with three more games to go in the West Midlands Men’s Super League are confirmed champions. The latest 5-0 win at Cabin secured the title giving them an unassailable 190 points with second placed Woodside on 168 after adding their awarded 5-0 win over Cradley Sports and Social. The runners-up position is left to fight for with third placed Yeltz Bar only two points behind Woodside.

Riley’s ‘C’ and Railway took their undefeated run to seven games in the Singles Division of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, Riley’s winning 5-2 against Red Lion (Wednesfield) and Railway handing their visitors Riley’s ‘A’ a 7-0 whitewash. The leading two teams are two points ahead of third placed Bull who have played one game more than them.

The same two teams Railway and Riley’s ‘C’ head the Doubles Division, both teams have 12 points and exactly the same average.
