Former West Midlands star Paul Hogan who nowadays resides and plays for Hampshire in the BDO Inter County Championships is a man who makes it “Many Happy Returns” whenever he comes back to his native West Midlands and especially when he visits the Winmau Centre in the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium as he never fails to return home without extra cash in his pocket.
Back in August Hogan successfully defended his Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open title at the centre taking home a cool £1,000 and more recently in October he added a further £500 when he not only took part in but won the Winmau Centre Open beating Jamie Robinson 6-3 in the final.
In the last 32 Hogan defeated current West Midlands player Mick Baker 4-1 and then in the last sixteen accounted for Richard Swainston with a 4-2 result.
Martin Biccs was the loser in the quarter finals as Hogan won 4-2 before booking his final place with a closer 5-4 verdict over Dave Walker.
From the other half of the draw Jamie Robinson had a 4-0 win against Martin East followed by a 4-2 result in his tie with Kenny Bedder. Robinson had another straight 4-0 win in the quarter finals when he beat Devinder Singh before winning 5-2 in the last four against Richard Hosey to take on what is becoming the invincible Hogan.
Is there anyone who is going to stop Paul Hogan making it four wins in a row, watch out for the Winmau Centre’s next knockout and see if you can be the player to beat him and take home the top prize.
