Following their opening 23-13 defeat away to reigning champions Yorkshire in the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships Warwickshire got their season underway in their first home game recording a 21-15 win against Nottinghamshire to lift them four places in the table to sixth.
Both men’s teams won the ‘A’ side winning 9-3 with Ted Evetts in superb form recording a straight 4-0 win over Andy McCracken. The ‘B’ team were 7-5 winners with Ian McFarlane (28.74) taking the match award for the second consecutive fixture.
The ladies ‘A’ after trailing 1-0 and 2-1 finished all square at three each, Trina Gulliver their top player with a 22.43 average, while the ‘B’ side went down 4-2 Helen Rigg (14.69) taking the match award.
