Kevin Lane winner of last season’s Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League got the new season off to another flyer with six wins in his opening six games but unfortunately Kevin has had to drop out of the league due to the fact that he has changed his occupation and has had to relocate to Bristol, all this when he looked a firm favourite to retain his title.
With Lane now out of the league last season’s runner up Kevin Harris, who lost the tile by just six points, is currently leading the field with 88 points from sixteen games, his latest results at the time of going to print being 7-0 against Phil Summers and 6-1 over Tam Singh obviously a man in form and looking to go one better than last season.
Hot on the heels of Harris is this season’s newcomer and West Midlands county player Michael Baker who as a late signing is currently playing catch up but from the 13 already played he has amassed 73 points leaving him with a 15 points deficit on Harris with three games still to play, three games which could produce a total of 21 points.
Baker’s most recent fixtures saw him record three 6-1 wins over opponents Ken West, Mark Bayliss and Steve O’Neill, he did however finish on the wrong side of a 4-3 scoreline against Rob Harris which was his only defeat in the thirteen he has played so far.

With only a couple of fixtures remaining in the Winmau Centre Monday Night League reigning champions The Untouchables, who only lost one of their 26 fixtures last season have already, after 18 games lost four and again at the time of going to print they are in third place in the table with 589 points and are a huge 33 points behind leaders Misfits and 19 adrift of second placed What Are Thooose so it does look as their will be new champions this season and the odds look well in favour of Misfits.
With the season fast drawing to an end plans are already in place for the next campaign and anyone interested in entering a team, which consists of five players in the league for the new season or for any further information regarding the league contact the Wolverhampton Indoor Community Sports Stadium on 01902-420827 or e-mail [email protected]
