The 23-13 win away over West of England in their last fixture could just be the confidence booster to get Shropshire’s season underway following a 24-12 defeat in the opener against Montgomery and Radnor in division four of the BDO Inter County Championships.
This weekend’s fixture is another opportunity to lift themselves further away from the foot of the table as they have a home tie against bottom placed Clwyd who are 13 points behind Shropshire and with only five points between them and third placed Middlesex a win would almost certainly see Shropshire move up into the top half of the table.

John Cornmell, Derek Coulson, Peter Eley, Kevin Harris, Danny James, Clive Lucking, Ian Pallett, Richard Parker, Neville Quinton, Roger Taylor, Men’s ‘B’:- Martin Angell, Eddie Austin, Phil Austin, John Breeze, Rob Harris, Andre Knox, Mick O’Neill, Jacob Perrins, Neil Powell, Martin Riggs, Wayne Speed, Rob Trumper, Reserves:- Chris Perrins, Daryl Sheldon, Nathan Storar, Adam Thackray, Kristian Wharton, Matt Williams, Women’s ‘A’:- Julie Griffiths, Kath McLean, Mandy Morgan, Caroline Powell, Leanne Quinton, Marie Riggs, Women’s ‘B’:- Millie Holt, Kirsty Jenks, Sue Lane, Michele Pritchard, Lynne Watton, Deanna Worrall, Reserves:- Stephanie Clarke, Sophie Fawcett, Sharon Harris, Shirley Reading, Jane Vernon.
