Warwickshire ended their season in the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships on a high as they won their home tie with bottom of the table Kent 21-15.

There were wins for three of the four teams the men’s ‘A’ and ‘B’ both winning 7-5 with Bob Nixon (27.03) and Matthew Edgar (29.91) taking the respective match awards. The ladies ‘B’ were 4-2 winners Kerry Bambridge their top player with a 23.68 average while the ‘A’ team finished all square with a 3-3 scoreline, Sue Gulliver the lady of the match with a superb 28.90 average.

In division two of the BDO Inter County Championships West Midlands brought the curtain down with a tough away game against London who were fighting for promotion. The result was a 20-16 win for the home team, which was not enough to earn them promotion as they finished third in the table, West Midlands dropped one place to sixth.

The ladies ‘B’ were the only winners of the weekend, a 4-2 victory with Sarah Roberts (21.23) chalking up her fifth consecutive lady of the match award. For the ‘A’ team Lisa Astbury made it seven out of nine match awards with a 19.37 average as her team lost 5-1.

There was a 7-5 defeat for the men’s ‘A’, Shaun Carroll recording a fine 30.83 average to take their award while the ‘B’ team ended their season with a 6-6 draw, Matthew Dicken (27.83) their award winner.

The South Birmingham League have got their new season underway and the early pacesetters in group one are Mackadown Social who had a 7-1 win over newly promoted The Trident, they are closely followed by The Gate who won 6-2 against The Bell.

In division two St John’s Flights lead the way after handing out an 8-0 defeat to their hosts Smithswood Social.

After the first four fixtures in the Forest of Arden Summer League Riley’s Red Arrows are the only team to be unbeaten in division one, despite having a bye this week they remain in pole position two points ahead of Greville Arrows, Highwood ‘C’ and Sheldon Marlborough Arrows.

In division two Chelmsley Town made it four wins in a row when they beat Shard End Crown Flights 6-1 to give them a perfect score of eight points. Second placed Crown Arrows won their home tie with Ivy Leaf 5-2 to keep them within two points of the leaders with a game in hand.

As a result of their opponents Here For The Beer not turning up The Untouchables were awarded a 48-0 win in the Winmau Centre Monday Night League at the Wolverhampton Sports Arena. Untouchables are now 33 points ahead of their nearest rivals Bully Boys who surprisingly went down 26-22 away to sixth in the table Cupid Stunts leaving third placed John’s Klan just 18 points adrift of the second spot after their 34-14 win over Yam Yams.

There was a battle of the top two teams in the Harborne League when Hillyfields ‘A’ played away to West Heath Snooker Club. The outcome was a 6-3 win for West Heath to take them into pole position on 20 points and see Hillyfields ‘A’ drop to second on 18 points, Court Oak are also on 18 points their latest fixture seeing them win 6-3 at home to Avenue Flights.

It was a good week for Weoley Castle WMC as they recorded their first win in twelve games, a 5-4 success away to Avenue Social which takes them off the foot of the table and be replaced by their opponents.

The Forest of Arden / Riley’s Open was staged at the Solihull based Riley’s club and saw Shropshire county player Kevin Harris take the title with a final 5-2 win over Luis Barberan, Harris having beaten Pete Shipley 4-1 in the semi’s while Barberan won 4-2 against Rob Harris.

The Plate Competition was won by Chris Fox who defeated Shay Derby 3-1 in the final.

Harris and Fox both hit a maximum plus Fox recorded a 150 game shot.

A 6-1 win at Hillyfields ‘B’ has secured the league title for Court Oak in the Kings Norton League as they are six points ahead of second placed Toby Jug ‘A’ with one rearranged game against Navigation still to play.

With no team losing in the top five there was only one positional change in the table which saw Dingle go above Cotteridge after beating them 4-3.

After playing seventeen games only average separates the top two teams Dudley Sports ‘C’ and Bridge ‘B’ in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League. Leaders Dudley Sports ‘C’ won their home game with fifth in the table Blue Brick 6-3, while Bridge ‘B’ slightly reduced the average arrears with a 7-2 win at Griffin, third placed High Acres fell further behind the top two when they lost their home tie with ninth place Portway 7-2 to leave them six points behind and having played one game more than the two teams above them.

The first leg of the second round of the League Cup was on the agenda for the Brierley Hill Friday Night League and both Miners (Wollescote) and Dudley Sports ‘B’ in turn had 6-3 wins over Roebuck and Brickmakers Arms, Pensnett Liberal Club and Netherton Cricket Club were 5-4 winners against their respective opponents Bridge and Bell.

Kevin Lane has taken his unbeaten run in the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League at the Wolverhampton Sports Arena to seventeen games, he was in top form in the latest round of fixtures as he beat Matt Barnfather 7-0 and followed that with a 6-1 win over Tam Singh to give him a total of 101 points six more than second placed Kevin Harris who had similar 7-0 and 6-1 wins against Shane Craig and Lee Craig.

Former leader Mick O’Neill had a night of mixed fortunes as he lost his first game against Kenny West 5-2 and then won the next against Liam Whale 6-1 to see him drop four places to fifth, however Mick does have two games in hand on the top two players.

With only one defeat in 31 games and only a handful of matches remaining Ashwood remain at the top of the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League with a four points lead over second in the table Ten Arches. There were wins for both teams again this week Ashwood winning their home tie with New Inns 6-3 and Ten Arches handing out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors The Fox (Lye).

There were no changes in the top seven places as they all recorded wins Bird (Wordsley) lost their eighth place to Corn Exchange after losing 5-4 against them.

A 6-1 home win over third in the table The Vine has seen Dewdrop hold on to their six points lead at the top of the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League, however they still have to keep an eye over their shoulder as their nearest rivals Old Hop Pole won 7-0 against bottom side Horsley Tavern and still have three games in hand, wins in those game would bring them level on points with Dewdrop but they would still trail on average.

In the Halesowen Monday Night Ladies League Black Horse had an important 4-3 home win over Park Lane Tavern to replace them in second place leaving Park Lane behind on average but having played one game less than Black Horse.

Top team Spring Meadow kept up their four points lead over Black Horse and Park Lane Tavern with a 4-3 win at Hare and Hounds, but yet again Park Lane have a game in hand on them.

In the Captains Cup Black Horse hold on to their two points lead at the top after beating Park Lane Tavern, they are closely followed by Spring Meadow who won their game against Hare and Hounds.

At the halfway stage of the Cradley Tuesday Night League Crown ‘A’ and White Horse are locked together on 28 points at the top of the table, Crown’A’ were involved in a local derby against their ‘B’ team in the latest round of fixtures and came out the 5-4 winners while White Horse had a more clear cut 7-2 win at Bulls Head.

Crown ‘A’ player Jason Lowe leads the averages so far, he has come through the first half unscathed having won all of his games.

With Will Naylor not playing this week in the Kingstanding Double Top League he has been replaced at the top of the table by Pat Koyce who in his two games beat John Morris jnr 4-1 recording a 160 break and eight darts leg and then by the same margin beat Steve Cain to give him a total of 29 points and a three points lead on Naylor.

Mike McFall lies in third place a 4-0 wins over Paul Cummins and Scott Alexander taking his points tally to 25, Luis Barberan also had a good 4-0 win against Scott Alexander in which he had breaks of 160 and 120 a top score of 180 and a winning eight darts leg.

The Crown at Olton Double Top League has begun its 2015 season and in the opening week John Buckingham got off to a flyer with a close 3-0 win over K.Attwood in which he hit a maximum, he then beat Jim Norris 3-0 recording a 146 finish and completed his trio of wins with a 3-0 verdict against I.Spencer including two 180’s and a 10 darts leg to lead the table with 9 points, one more than Tony Randell and Mark Wall.

Gornal Conservative Club new this season to the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League have had a storming start to the season leading the table with a perfect ten points from the opening five games, their latest win was a convincing 6-1 result at High Acres but close on their heels is Ashwood ‘A’ whose 7-0 win at Ten Arches ‘A’ maintains their unbeaten run and leaves them just two legs of average behind the leaders.

Dudley Sports were the only losers in the top six teams going down 6-1 at home to The Bell who are fourth in the table on 8 points as are Ten Arches ‘B’ who won 7-0 at Queens.

The Pip Club League played the next round of fixtures for their Round Robin Division One contest and a 5-3 win by Prince of Wales at Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) sees the winners lead the field with an undefeated six points. Second placed Birchmoor Club, who have played one game more than the leaders won their game against Two Gates Club 7-0 to trail the top team by one point.

In division two there was a shock for leaders J W Belgrave as for only the third time in 26 games they lost. Playing away against third in the table Sports Bar ‘180’ the top side went down by a massive 10-6, nevertheless they hold on to pole position with 43 points a lead of seven on second placed Pip Club and eleven ahead of their victors.

Wednesfield FC stay top of division one of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League a 5-2 win over Bradmore ‘B’ giving them a total of 22 points the same number that ECC in second place have following their 7-0 win against Riley’s ‘D’. Village dropped two places to sixth after a 4-3 home loss at the hands of the Victoria team who are third in the table.

In the second division Pheasant consolidated their number one spot with a 7-0 win over Wednesfield Legion ‘B’, second in the table Whitmore Reans WMC stayed within four points of the top team with a similar 7-0 win against Riley’s ‘B’.

Despite beating Old Stags Head 4-3 Bull dropped behind Roebuck into fifth place as Roebuck beat Bird in Hand 5-2 to overtake Bull with a better average.

Fox and Dogs reigning champions in the Tamworth League have moved back into their familiar spot in the table, pole position. A 6-1 win at Three Tuns ‘A’ (Fazeley) has given them 154 points and a lead of one point and a game in hand over Belgrave Club, former leaders Dolphin ‘A’ drop to third in the table after losing 5-2 away to Belgrave Club.
