As the Sheldon and District Winter League draws ever closer to the end of the season cup finals are the order of the day the latest of which has been the Punchbowl and Sheldon Shield. In the Punchbowl semi finals The Raven who finished seventh in the premier division table produced a shock 6-3 win over premier division runners up Crown at Olton, the other last four game saw the premier division’s fifth placed team Saltley Amateur Gardeners beat division one runners up Banbury Club 5-4.
The all premier division final saw Saltley Amateur Gardeners beat The Raven 5-4 at least some consolation for the former divisional champions after losing out this season on the league title.
The semi finals of the Sheldon Shield saw the division two champions Crown-Forget-Me-Not go out 5-4 to Highwood Exiles who finished fourth in the same division. In the other semi final premier division’s Sheldon Dukes beat division one opponents Holy Souls 5-4.
The final produced another shock result as Highwood Exiles continued their good form beating Sheldon Dukes who are some fifteen places above them in the league 5-2.

The Small Heath League completed their season with the play off for their 501 Knockout, although entries for both the doubles and singles were higher this year the 501 event was a little depleted and only attracted 25 players, nevertheless it in no way detracted from the quality of darts and enjoyment on the night.
The first of the semi finals saw Neil Parsonage (Emerald Club) defeat Antony Fisher (Emerald Club) 3-0 despite a brave fight by Fisher. The second of the semi’s produced a 3-1 win for John Frost (Mitre) over Paul Webster (Emerald Flights).
The final saw Parsonage add yet another title to his ever increasing list when he defeated Frost 3-1.

The Riley’s Snooker Bar, Solihull is giving all darts players the opportunity to play for a chance of qualifying for the National Gala finals of the Darts Club Championship which carries a massive prize fund of £22,000.
Throughout June, July and August sixteen Riley’s clubs will host twelve weekly Club Championship qualifiers to produce twelve weekly winners, the winners will then battle it out for the title of Club Champion in an exclusive Club Final in the thirteenth week.
The top four players from each club will then take part in the Riley’s Darts Club Championships National Final in September 2015 to produce the Club GB champion!
The first of the qualifiers should take place week commencing Monday 1st June, with the last qualifier taking place week commencing 17th August.
The Club Final will take place in week commencing 24th August and the National Final then being staged in Wolverhampton on Saturday 5th September.
Each weekly qualifier carries a guaranteed prize fund of £100, the winner receiving £75 and the runner up £25. Players will pay £5 on the night to enter.
The National Final has a separate prize fund of £3140 broken down as follows, winner £1,000, runner up £500, losing semi finalists £100 each, losing quarter finalists £50 each, last sixteen £25 each and last thirty two £20 each.

Week three of the Forest of Arden Summer League and Riley’s Red Arrows made it three straight wins in division one when they won 4-3 at Sheldon Marlborough Arrows to keep them two points ahead of the rest of the field.
In division two Chelmsley Town and Crown Arrows are the only two teams to remain undefeated Chelsmley heading the table with three wins, their latest being 4-3 away to New Inns, while Crown Arrows whose result against Highwood Exiles is yet to come in have four points from the two they have won so far.

After completing four games in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League newcomers Gornal Conservative Club and Ashwood ‘A’ continue their winning ways, Gornal top the table after handing out a 7-0 whitewash to their hosts Ten Arches ‘A’ who are currently next to bottom of the table, Ashwood ‘A’ had a 5-2 win at Dudley Sports who drop from third to sixth. Taking over the number three spot is Ten Arches ‘B’ after their 6-1 win at The Swan.
At the other end of the table Netherton Cricket Club chalked up their first win in four, a 4-3 home success over High Acres and as a result move three places from the bottom of the table.

Some surprise results in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League as the top two teams Miners (Wollescote) and Brickmakers Arms both lost. Miners went down 6-3 at home to seventh in the table The Bell, while Brickmakers who also played at home lost 5-4 to Netherton Cricket Club who are fourth.
The defeats have thrown the league wide open but despite losing both teams hold on to their places in the table, Miners now on 26 points are still two ahead of Brickmakers but they now have Pensnett Welfare Club and Netherton Cricket Club joining them on the same 24 points.

The semi finals of the Black Country Windscreens Shield in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League all went to plan as second in the table Old Hop Pole beat Jolly Collier who are sixth 6-1 and The Vine who are placed third won by the same 6-1 margin against Merry-Go-Round who are eighth.
There was just one rearranged league fixture which saw Tipton Sports lose 4-3 at home to Sow and Pigs, the winners moving to within two points of their hosts.

There was a top of the table clash in the Cradley Tuesday Night League leaders Crown ’A‘ played at home against second in the table White Horse. The result was a surprisingly high 7-2 win for Crown ‘A’ to open up a gap of two points between the two teams. White Horse now have a similar two points advantage over their nearest rivals Brickmakers Arms, who had a bye this week and Crown ‘B’ who won 6-3 at Wheatsheaf.

The Kingstanding Double Top League played off a Singles Knockout this week and taking the honours was Pat Koyce. Pat won his quarter final game against Steve Cain 3-1 and followed that with a close 3-2 verdict over John Morris jnr. From the other half of the draw Chris Turnbull took out Adam Gallett 3-1 in the last eight and then by the same scoreline defeated Barry Stephens to book his final place.
Koyce who had been in top form throughout continued in the same vein in the final as he wrapped up the title with a straight 3-0 victory over Turnbull.

Bulls Head ‘A’ (Polesworth) have taken over pole position in division one of the Pip Club League after a convincing 6-2 win away to Birchmoor Club the previous divisional leaders. The defeat sees Birchmoor drop two places in the table to third and behind Prince of Wales who move into the second spot after a similar 6-2 win away to bottom team Wigginton Arms.
In division two the top three places remain as they were as all three teams recorded wins, there was however a rare win for Royal Oak who with only seven wins from 24 games made it eight when they won 12-4 away to bottom of the table Globe ‘B’.

Horses move off the bottom of the Camp Hill League table after chalking up only their second win in eleven games a 4-3 home success over Devil’s Club who are just two points ahead of Wagon who take over at the foot of the table following a 5-2 defeat at Lions.
A 5-2 win by Journeys End sees them replace their opponents Holy Gulp in third place, Holy Gulp dropping to fifth.

Riley’s ‘A’ top the Tettenhall Wednesday Night League table with 26 points and open a gap of two points on second placed Otter and Vixen after they beat them 5-2. Not such good news for their local rivals Riley’s ‘B’ who lost by the same scoreline at Claregate and go down two places to fifth. Village Inn’s 5-2 win at Dog and Partridge takes them up one place to third and Woodfield Social who won 4-3 at Brewood British Legion, the only result that was not 5-2 this week, move into fifth place.
