Congratulations to Warwickshire’s Jamie Hughes, who along with partner Sam Hewson of Lincolnshire took the British Open Pairs title being held at the Spa Centre Bridlington. Jamie and Sam have made their mark on many of the pairs events being held on the circuit and form a very effective partnership. The pair’s event with more than 150 entries is a tough event to take but they did it in style defeating Garry Thompson and Scott Waites of Yorkshire in the quarter finals and then Jamie Wilson (Yorkshire) and Gary Robson (Cheshire). Then in the final they overcame Scotland’s Steve Robertson and Lancashire’s Ryan Hogarth with a 4-3 scoreline.
