In their latest fixture Chelmsley Wood RBL had a comfortable 6-2 win over bottom team Banbury Flights in Group ‘A’ of the South Birmingham League to put them three points ahead of second placed Raven. St John’s went one better beating The Dog 7-1.
In Group ‘B’ leaders Riley’s Kings were involved in a high scoring affair at the Punch Bowl and ran out 7-1 winners to take their unbeaten run to six games. Second in the table Crown also won 7-1 in their game at the Trident to keep them on the same 12 points as Riley’s Kings but having played one game more.
Group ‘C’ produced the biggest shock of the week when top side St John’s Flights lost for the first time in eight games. Playing away to fourth in the table Smithswood Social St John’s Flights lost 5-3, but they still have a two points lead at the top as second in the table Toby Jug went down by the same 5-3 scoreline away to third placed The Gate. It was good news for The Kingfisher as they moved off the foot of the table with their first win of the season’s eight games, a 5-3 home win over Poachers Pocket which saw their opponents take over the bottom spot.

The top three teams in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League, Ashwood, Britannia and Ten Arches all won their week four games. In turn they defeated Plough (6-3), Corn Exchange (8-1) and Stourbridge RBL (8-1) to put all three teams on the maximum eight points. Ashwood and Britannia are also level on average and share pole position, while Ten Arches are just one leg of average behind the leading duo. It was not such a good week for The Cat team as they lost for the first time this season, a 6-3 reversal at home to The Bird, Wordsley, who are now just two points behind their hosts with a game in hand.
Kingswinford Conservative Club chalked up their first win in four, a 5-4 home success over Shrubbery Cottage, who are now one of three teams without a win so far, the other two being Crestwood and The Fox, Lye.

Just one fixture played in the Small Heath League which saw Wagon and Horses win 6-3 away to bottom of the table Clock Inn. The win lifts Wagon and Horses up one place over Emerald Flights into fifth position and also puts them top of the Shadow League, two points ahead of both Victoria New Club and Cob’s Bar, Victoria having played one game less than their two rivals.

The Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League played the first leg of round one of their League Cup. The only surprise result of the round was the local derby game between Ten Arches ‘B’ and Ten Arches ‘A’. The ‘A’ side lead the field in the weekly table with an unbeaten nine wins, while the ‘B’ team are ninth in the table some ten points behind their rivals having lost five of their nine games. League results were thrown aside as the ‘B’ team recorded a 4-3 win, close but good enough to give them the advantage going into the next leg.
Other teams to go into the second leg with a lead are, Netherton Cricket Club, The Bridge, Rose and Crown, Ashwood ‘A’ and Dudley Sports.

The top two teams in the Camp Hill League, Cotterills Lane Club and Gulp Tribe played each other in the latest round of fixtures, the outcome was a 5-2 win for the away side Cotterills Lane Club to take their winning run to six games with a maximum 12 points. Gulp Tribe were pushed into the third spot as Scruffy Ringers won 5-2 at Devil’s Club to put them on eight points, two more than Gulp. Scruffy and Gulp both have a game in hand on Cotterills, but the leaders are in turn four and six points ahead of them.

Crown ‘A’ are still unbeaten in the Cradley Tuesday Night League, taking their winning run to 28 games with a 7-2 home win over Wheatsheaf. In fact apart from The Gate, Colley Gate, who had a bye this week, Hawne Lane Tavern were the only losers in the top eight teams. So the top of the table basically remains unchanged Crown ‘A’ on 56 points are eight ahead of Chainmakers ‘B’, who in turn are six to the good on both Brickmakers and Members Club.
Crown’A’ member Jason Lowe is enjoying a successful season so far as he has hit five maximums, and shares the most wins, which is 24, the least darts of 12 and the highest break of 160.

After only three fixtures just three teams remain undefeated in the newly formed Black Country Premier League. An 11-4 win at Park Lane Taverners has put Lyde Green Flights top of the table with an average advantage over previous leaders Gate R&R, who had a narrow 8-7 home win over Wynall Lane Warriors. Hasbury Monks, who have only played two games, are the other unbeaten team, a 10-5 win at Britannia Bulldogs putting them in fourth place in the table. On the individual scene this week there were 180’s for Alf Turley (Black Country Belters), Paul Hackett (Gate R&R) and Steve Carey (Hasbury Monks).

With the Ivy House, Dudley having a bye this week in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League, second placed Dudley Sports ‘B’ were the only losers in the top seven teams. Playing at home against the Summer House, a team twelve places and 18 points below them, they lost 5-4. The loss means that Bulls Head, Netherton, with a 6-3 win over Rose and Crown (Wordsley) have now joined them on 46 points and only trail on average. The two teams are a massive twelve points off top team Blue Brick ‘C’, who made it 29 wins from 31 games when they recorded a huge 8-1 win at Old Star ‘B’.

Barry Stephens has taken over second place in the table in the Red Lion Erdington Friday Individual League. Two 5-2 wins over fourth placed Paul Cummings and fifth in the table Gary Taylor has seen Stephens leap frog Luis Barberan and move into the number two spot, but only on average as Barberan has the same 36 points after his 5-3 win against Dale Savage.
Leader John Burdett didn’t play this week, but he is one point ahead of Stephens and Barberan with two games in hand on both. Having won 18 of his 21 games he could well extend that lead when he plays his games in hand. The gap between the third placed Barberan and Cummings is now six points.

Otter and Vixen have taken over pole position in division one of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League after a 5-2 home win over Penn Bowling and former leaders Riley’s ‘C’ having a bye. A win in their game in hand would see Riley’s ‘C’ return to the number one spot as they have a superior average and are only two points adrift.
Ashmore Inn dropped one place to fifth following their surprising 5-2 home defeat by Railway, who are ninth in the table and ten points behind their hosts.
In division two Wednesfield Legion ‘A’ have lost the top spot after going down 4-3 at home to Chillington Club, Chillington going from third to joint top with Wednesfield Conservative Club, who had a 6-1 win at Emerald.
At the other end of the table there was a rare win for King Charles, only their fifth in twenty one games when they won 5-2 away to bottom team Ukrainian Club.

Ex Serviceman’s Club have lost third place in the Rowley Monday Night League to Ivy Bush ‘Z’. Ex Serviceman’s, despite home advantage lost 5-4 to top of the table Crown, who made it 25 consecutive wins and a perfect 50 points. Ivy Bush ‘Z’ went two points ahead of Ex Serviceman’s with a convincing 8-1 win at White Swan, Springfield Social Club hold on to third place with a 7-2 win away to Plough and Harrow. They remain four points ahead of both Ex Serviceman’s and Allens Sports Bar, who won 6-3 at Hunting Tree.
