In division two of the BDO Inter County Championships, West Midlands finished on a high beating the divisional runners up Cleveland 21-15. Both men’s teams won 7-5, with Mark Rollinson (27.72) and Nick Fullwell (28.90) taking the respective ‘A’ and ‘B’ man of the match awards.
The ladies ‘A’ lost 4-2, Lisa Astbury (19.11) the teams award winner, while the ‘B’ side recorded their best win of the season, beating their counterparts 5-1 and for a third consecutive fixture Gemma Barrett took the match award with her 18.56 average.
West Midlands win took them on place up the table to finish in fourth place with 188 points, just four behind third placed Derbyshire and only eight off runners up Cleveland. Somerset with 206 points were champions, they were 18 points ahead of the West Midlands.
