After five straight victories, Warwickshire were unable to finish their season in the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships with a win. Playing away against Kent only the ladies ‘B’ side were winners, the other three teams all lost.

After a 4-2 win by the ladies ‘B’, with Natalie Gilbert (19.68) taking the match award, the men’s ‘B’ went down 8-4, Carl Green (26.66) their top player.

The only highlight of Sunday’s games was the performance from Steve Hine, who beat Mark Pattison 4-2 and in the process recorded a tremendous 31.05 average. The ladies ‘A’ side suffered their biggest defeat of the campaign as they were handed a 6-0 whitewash.

Despite the 23-13 defeat Warwickshire were still able to hold on to a third place finish in the table, a superb effort wining six of their nine fixtures to give them a total of 183 points, 18 short of second placed Lancashire. Yorkshire finished as champions with a 240 points.

In division two of the BDO Inter County Championships, West Midlands finished on a high beating the divisional runners up Cleveland 21-15. Both men’s teams won 7-5, with Mark Rollinson (27.72) and Nick Fullwell (28.90) taking the respective ‘A’ and ‘B’ man of the match awards.

The ladies ‘A’ lost 4-2, Lisa Astbury (19.11) the teams award winner, while the ‘B’ side recorded their best win of the season, beating their counterparts 5-1 and for a third consecutive fixture Gemma Barrett took the match award with her 18.56 average.

West Midlands win took them on place up the table to finish in fourth place with 188 points, just four behind third placed Derbyshire and only eight off runners up Cleveland. Somerset with 206 points were champions, they were 18 points ahead of the West Midlands.

The Cradley Tuesday Night League has reached the halfway mark of their season and Crown ‘A’ have completed all 18 games and remain undefeated, their most recent win being an impressive 8-1 victory at Bulls Head to maintain their four points advantage over second in the table Members Club.

Leading the way in the individual averages is Jason Lowe (Crown ‘A’), who has lost just one of his 18 games. Jason is closely followed by team mate A.Ghaley and Richard Hill (Members Club), who have both won 15 of their 18 games.

In division one of the Forest of Arden Summer League Olton Crown, with a 4-3 win over second in the table Highwood ‘A’ took their unbeaten run to four games and are now the only undefeated team in the division.

In division two Iron Horse maintained their winning run as they handed out Peechy Keans first defeat, a 4-3 result which sees the victors head the table on a perfect six points plus a game in hand on their nearest rivals Highwood ‘C’.

Centurion beat Greville Arms 5-2 in division three to make it eight points from their opening four games. New Inns are the only other team in the division with a 100% win record, they are two points behind the leaders but with a game in hand.

The top three teams in the Camp Hill League all won 6-1 this week. Cotterills Lane Club, who remain two points clear at the top of the table beat Bordesley Labour Club, who drop one place to fourth. Second in the table Gulp tribe won at Wagonners and Scruffy Ringers replace Bordesley in third place after their win over Devil’s Club who have now taken over at the foot of the table after Station Hotel recorded their second win of the season, a massive 7-0 success against fifth placed Westminster Lions.

Just one outstanding fixture remains in the Netherton Thursday Night League between Pensnett and Bromley and White Swan, who are both near the bottom of the table. At the other end of table champions Rose and Crown finished the season with 60 points, Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club joined them on the same number of points as they completed their programme with a 5-4 home win over Springfield Social Club, but lost out on the title with an inferior average.

Fairfield won the shadow league finishing nine points ahead of The Bell, who were runners up.

In the penultimate fixtures of the season in the Stourbridge and District League, the title has been thrown wide open as leaders High Acres lost their home game with second in the table Brickmakers 5-4. The two teams are now both locked together on 66 points with just one to play.

Fifth placed Corn Exchange suffered a surprising 5-4 home defeat at the hands of the Plough team, who are eleventh in the table.

The Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League played off the finals of their Knockout Cup. In the first semi final The Bell and The Swan (Brettell Lane) game went to 7-7, The Swan winning 2-1 in the play off. The other last four play off saw Ten Arches ‘A’ beat Rose and Crown 10-4.

The final saw league runners up Ten Arches ‘A’ romp to a 6-1 win over The Swan.

Individual performances of the night went to Ten Arches ‘A’ players M.Rollinson and N.Donaldson, who in turn recorded six and seven darts games.

St John’s, leaders of division two in the South Birmingham League kept their massive lead intact with a 7-2 win over fourth in the table Coleshill Social. Now having won the division have a ten points lead over second placed Iron Horse, who ahd a by e this week.

Banbury Club dropped from third to fourth in the table after losing 6-3 away to The Dog.

The Sheldon and District winter League played off another couple of their cup. In the Punch Bowl there were big wins for Raven and Crown at Olton as in turn they won 8-1 against Shard End Social and 7-2 against Crown at Shard End.

The final was a much closer 5-4 going in favour of Crown at Olton with Raven runners up.

In the Sheldon Shield Langley Hall Sports and Social won by the odd game, 5-4 against Holy Souls, while Riley’s Rags eased through to the final 6-3 against Crown-Forget-Me-Not.

The final produced another very close game with Langley Hall Sports and Social just getting the 5-4 edge on Riley’s Rags.

The results in the Small Heath League this week produced just one positional change and that was Victoria New Club moved off the bottom of the table with a surprise 7-2 home win over seventh placed Wagon and Horses and taking over the bottom spot is Cob’s Bar, who lost their home tie with leaders Gulp Tribe 5-4.

The top two teams in division one of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League both won 6-1 this week. Leaders Otter and Vixen beat Oxbarn, while second placed Victoria won at Riley’s ‘A’ Third placed Riley’s C’ went down 4-3 at Village ‘B’.

In division two, Wednesfield Conservative Club lost their home game with leaders Wednesfield Legion ‘A’ 5-2 and drop one place to third. Taking over in second place is Chillington Club, who beat Dog and Partridge 4-3 to keep them on the same 22 points as the leaders, but trailing on average.

Played seventeen, won seventeen that’s the record for The Crown in the Rowley Monday Night League. Crown’s latest victory was a convincing 8-1 home win over fifth paced Bell. With two game to go to the halfway mark, Crown have a four points lead over their nearest rivals Springfield Social Club, who lost their home game against middle of the table Leones 6-3.

With one fixture remaining in the Tamworth League, Fox and Dogs made it 21 wins in as many games when they convincingly beat Old Liberal House 6-1 to knock their visitors down one place to fourth i the table. Fox and Dogs, now the uncrowned champions are 23 points ahead of Dolphin ‘A’, who will finish as runners up as third placed Sports Bar ‘180’ are a further 38 points behind them.
