The South Birmingham League had the finals of their Roy Parry Cup on the fixture card and in the semi finals division one leaders The Crown took on fourth in the table Punch Bowl and won 7-2. The second of the semi’s saw Riley’s Kings hand out a 9-0 whitewash to their division two opponents Coleshill Social to set up a final between the top two team in division one.
As expected the final, with two teams riding high in the league the result was very close, but it was The Crown who just got the 5-4 verdict.

There were wins for the top five teams in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League and with only two fixtures remaining High Acres held on to their two points lead at the top of the table with a close 5-4 win away to Quarry Bank Conservative Club, who are seventh in the table.
Second placed Brickmakers are now the only team able to catch the leaders, a 7-2 home win against Shrubbery Cottage giving them a total of 64 points, two less then High Acres. There is then a four points gap to third placed Ten Arches, who handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Gigmill ‘B’ and then comes another four points gap to fourth in the table Bird ‘A (Stourbridge), who had a 6-3 win at Stourbridge RBL.
Making up the top five is Corn Exchange who coincidentally are a further four points adrift following their 7-2 success t Crestwood Beauties.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club suffered a setback to their title hopes in the Netherton Thursday Night League as they went down by a surprisingly big 7-2 scoreline away to leaders Rose and Crown. With 54 points Rose and Crown are three ahead of the Serviceman’s Club, who do have a game in hand and a win in that would give them the three points to draw level however, they do trail by a huge 18 legs of average and would remain in second place even with a 9-0 win.
Springfield Social Club lost their third place to Brickmakers ‘A’, who beat them 7-2, Springfield drop one place to fourth.

The Camp Hill League played a couple of rearranged fixtures, which saw Bordesley Labour Club hang on to third place with a 4-3 win away to bottom of the league team Devil’s Club. In the other game Scruffy Ringers kept within two points of Bordesley with a convincing 7-0 win at Wagonners.
With all of the teams having played 12 games Cotterills Lane Club lead the way on 22 points, with Gulp Tribe two points behind them. Then comes Bordesley on 16 points and Scruffy Ringers on 14.
Bordesley’s win sees then head the Shadow League with 8 points, four more than their nearest rivals Wagonners.

Gulp Tribe made it nine consecutive wins in the Small Heath League when they won their home tie with Wagon and Horses 8-1 giving them a perfect 18 points. Emerald Club moved up into second place with a 5-4 win against Clock Inn, Shannon’s and Westminster Lions are on the same 12 points as Emerald Club, but have inferior averages.

Very little change in the Rowley Monday Night League as the top eight teams all won this week. Crown stay two points ahead in pole position with a 6-3 home win over Leones, while second in the table Springfield Social Club beat their opponents Whiteheath Tavern 8-1 to put them on 28 points.
Ivy Bush ‘Z’ are a further two points behind Springfield and won 7-2 at Britannia Inn, then a further two points behind comes Ex Serviceman’s Club with a 6-3 home win over Moon Under Water. Another two points adrift is the Bell, with a 6-3 win at Hunting Tree, and making up the top six is Allens Sports Bar, an 8-1 home win over Haden Cross giving them 20 points again two behind the team above them the Bell.

Former Warwickshire County and West Midland Super League player Bill Taylor has passed away after suffering ill heath for the last two years.
Known throughout the Midlands Bill was a very popular player and ambassador for the sport. He will be sadly missed by not only his family but everyone who knew him.

The Tettenhall Wednesday Night League staged the preliminary rounds of their Knockout and Consolation cups. In the former there were wins for Riley’s and Moreton, who in turn defeated Pendulum and Claregate.
Just one game in the Consolation Cup which saw Village beat Pear and Partridge.

Congratulations to Rob and Kevin Harris from the Bridge ‘A’, who with a final 2-0 victory over Phil O’Brien and Nigel Cadlin (Swan, Brettell Lane) lifted the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League’s Doubles Knockout title.

Riley’s ‘C’ were the only losers in the top five teams in division one of the Wolverhampton and District Tuesday Night League and in addition their number one spot in the table.. Playing away to third in the table Oxbarn, Riley’s went down 4-3 and now trail new leaders Otter and Vixen by two points after they won 4-3 at Merry Boys.
No change in division two as the top five all won to leave four of them, Wednesfield Legion ‘A’, Wednesfield Conservative Club, Chillington Club and Riley’s ‘B’ all on 18 points.
At the other end of the table King Charles move off the bottom with a 4-3 home win over Harrowby, taking their place at the foot of the table is Ukrainian Club, who lost 4-3 as hosts to Dog and Partridge.

The top two teams in the Cradley Tuesday Night League, Crown ‘A’ and Brickmakers played each other this week and the result was a 5-4 win for Crown ‘A’ to give them a four points buffer at the top of the table. The outcome of Brickmakers defeat was that they drop two places to fourth on 24 points, Chainmakers ‘B’ and Members Club moving two points above them after in turn beating Roost ‘B’ (8-1) and Riddins Tavern (6-3).
Yeltz Bar fall two places in the table to seventh following their somewhat surprising 7-2 defeat away to Wheatsheaf, who are in the bottom half of the table.

Fox and Dogs took their unbeaten run to 20 games when they beat Three Tuns, Fazeley 6-1, the losers dropping one place in the table to fifth. Old Liberal House remain in third place despite going down 4-3 at home to Sports Bar ‘180’, who are just below them with two games in hand.
At the other end of the table Sports Bar chalked up only their third win in twenty game when they beat the team directly above them Dolphin ‘B’ 5-2. Nevertheless Sports Bar remain one place of the bottom.
Martin Edwards (Fox and Dogs) has won the Players League, his latest victory over Chris Yung (Three Tuns, Fazeley) has taken his points tally to 51 and with the two nearest players to him in the table, Paul Smallwood (Tam O’Shanter) and Kevin Clubley (Dolphin ‘A’) losing to respective opponents Andy Brennan (Wigginton) and bottom of the table Ian Grylls (Globe, Wilnecote), Edwards now cannot be caught.

For the first time this season and the first in 21 games Bulls Head ‘A’ lost in the Tamworth League. Playing at home against fourth in the table Wilnecote Club they went down 9-7. Despite the defeat Bulls Head ‘A’ remain in pole position but their advantage has now been reduced to four points with Birchmoor Club, who won 10-6 at Bull (Two Gates) their nearest rivals. Third placed Dolphin ‘A’ had a 16-0 result against Anchor Inn and although six points behind the leaders do have a game in hand.
Wayne Hewins (Belgrave Club) notched a maximum in his team’s 11-5 win at Travellers.
