In division two West Midlands played hosts to Norfolk and were looking to add to their first match 20-16 win over Leicestershire. There were mixed fortunes for the ladies as the ‘B’ team won 4-2 and the ‘A’ suffered a reversal of their opening day 5-1 win. Heather Wright took the ‘B’ teams award with an 18.33 average, while Sarah Roberts (16.70), the sole ‘A’ team winner won the lady of the match award for the second successive game.
Sean Carrol (26.63) was the top man in the men’s ‘B’ team 6-6 draw and Doug Thompson, with a 27.56 average was the ‘A’ team’s ,am of the match as they romped to a 10-2 victory.
The win takes the West Midlands one place up the overall table to third place, six points behind leaders Somerset and second placed Cleveland, who are both on 52 points.
