Old Bill and Bull lost their joint top position in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League in week three when they lost 4-3 away to Highwood ‘A, who are placed in a mid table position. The defeat leaves Saltley Amateur Gardeners, who won 7-2 at George V as sole leaders with maximum six points. George V drop two places in the table to fifth.
Although his team, Langley Hall Sports and Social lost 5-4 away to Crown at Olton, S.Bromley was in fine form with 100 and 160 breaks, a top score of 109 and the fastest leg of the night seven darts.
In division one EBAHA and Sheldon Social played each other, the former winning the tussle 7-2. As a result the teams have swapped places in the table, EBAHA taking over the number two spot and Sheldon Social dropping to third.
Baldwin Bears continue to impress in division two adding their 8-1 home win over Riley’s Wings to the previous two wins to keep them top of the division, but only on average from both Highwood ‘B’ and Crown Arrows, who in turn defeated Meadway Sports and Social 8-1 and Emerald Flights 5-4.

After completing just three fixtures in the Pip Club League only two teams are able to boast a 100% win record. Bulls Head ‘A’, with their latest 12-4 win at Travellers are the early leaders of the overall and division one tables, but only on average from Belgrave Club, who went one better with a 13-3 home win against White Lion t6o leave them four points of average behind Bulls Head.
Royal Oak lead division two, a close 9-7 victory at Pip Club giving them four points and a two points lead over second placed Old Liberal Club, who won by the same margin against Longwood.

Jays Bar moved up two places to fourth in the Cradley Tuesday Night League following their 5-2 win at Netherton Sports and Social ‘A’, while Gate (Colley Gate) dropped one place to fifth after a somewhat surprising 4-3 defeat away to Gate (Darby End) who have move up one place to tenth.
Leaders Brickmakers moved another step nearer to clinching the title with a 4-3 win away to Plough and Harrow, they now have 52 points, ten more than their nearest rivals Chainmakers ‘B’ and Yeltz Bar with six games remaining.

A quality field turned out at the Heartlands Club, Aston to participate in a 501 competition in an effort to raise money for Alfie Leadbetter a young man from Middlesbrough who suffers from Alexander’s Disease, an illness that destroys the nervous system. Fourteen year old Luis Barberan took the honours defeating Ian Mathews 4-3 in a closely fought final well done to all the players who attended.

Fox and Dogs are the early pacesetters in the Tamworth League and they have begun the new season in style winning both of their opening fixtures against Sports Bar and Tam O’Shanter 7-0 to give them a total of 14 points, six more than Dolphin ‘A’, who are second in the table.
In the players league out of a total of twelve players only two Baz Wright (Dolphin Inn ‘B’) and Kevin Clubley (Dolphin Inn ‘A’) have won both games.

Played 27 and lost just one, that’s the record Gulp Tribe have in the Small Heath League, their consistency so far giving them an eight points lead over second placed Emerald Club, plus two games in hand. The latest round of fixtures saw Gulp Tribe beat Sheldon Marlborough Flights 7-2 and with a similar scoreline Emerald Club won at Cobs Bar.

The Camp Hill League staged their doubles competition at the Cotterills Lane Club and winning the event were the hosts representatives Neil Parsonage and Matthew Cooper. The winning duo beat team mates D.Carter and Martin Cooper in the all Cotterills final.
Losing semi finalists were, D.Logan / M.Richards and Ada Radborne / Mark Wyatt.

Week three of the new Riley’s Super Series Friday Singles League and brother’s Mike and Chris McFall lead the way with 30 points each. The most recent games saw Mike beat Jimmy Collins 6-1 and Chris win 6-0 against Ricky Barberan.
Luis Barberan had a 6-2 win against Gary Taylor to place him third in the table with 24 points.

Village ‘B’ have lost their two points advantage at the top of division two in the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, playing away against Pyle Cock the leaders finished on the wrong side of a 4-3 result and now Bull, who won their home tie with Wednesfield Legion ‘B’ 5-2 have drawn level on the same 42 points and only trail on average. Pyle Cock’s win takes them up one place in the table to seventh.
Village ‘A’ march on in division one, a 4-3 win over Railway maintaining their four points lead over Otter and Vixen ‘B’, who won 5-2 at Bird in Hand, plus Village ‘A@ have a game in hand on their rivals.
Pavilion jumped up four places in the table after handing out a 7-0 whitewash to their opponents bottom of the table Merry Boys.

Bulls Head (Rowley) beat Whiteheath Tavern 7-2 in the Rowley Monday Night League to give them 50 points, a six points lead over second in the table Bell, a game in hand and only six fixtures remaining.
Bell, with 42 points have threats from both Bull Terrier and Ivy Bush ‘Z’, who have each played one game fewer than the Bell and could overtake them with wins in those games in hand.

The new Riley’s Sunday League at Castle Vale have been busy with their group individual finals. In group ‘A’ Neil Parsonage opened up a two legs lead in the best of seven legs over Trevor Frost only to see his counterpart move up a gear and romp to a 4-2 win.
The group ‘B’ final was the best of five legs and was contested by Paul Lawrence and William Naylor, which swung one way then the other. Naylor won the opening leg only to see Lawrence win the following two, after Naylor had hit a maximum in the third leg. With another 180 Naylor won the fourth and then went on to win the tie 3-2.
After one round of games in the league Trevor Frost leads the field with 10 points, closely followed by Neil Parsonage with 8 and then comes three players, William Naylor, Stewart Hazlett and Brendan Lysaght all on six points.
