Week 14 of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League produced a couple of surprising division one results, Wolverhampton Sports Arena lost 5-2 away to Otter and Vixen ‘B’, their nearest rivals. However, Sports Arena hang on to their second place with 20 points, but now their victors are only two points behind them and have, not only a superior average, but also a game in hand. Another threat for Wolverhampton Sports Arena comes from fourth in the table Victoria, who despite losing heavily by 6-1 at Pavilion, who are placed fifth, are on the same 18 points as Otter and Vixen ‘B’ and similarly have a game in hand.
Leaders of the division, Village ‘A’ had a convincing 6-1 result away to the Boat ‘B’ to give them 22 points and a two points lead.
In division two leaders Electric won a vital away game against the Bull by 4-3, the losers dropping two places in the table to fourth. Riley’s ‘A’ kept the pressure on the leaders and stay level on the same 22 points following their 6-1 win away to Corpus. Village ‘B’ won their home tie with Boat ‘A’ 5-2 they and the Bull are both on 20 points.

The top two teams in the Tamworth League, Three Horse Shoes and Old Liberal House played each other in the latest round of fixtures and the hosts and second in the table Old Liberal House recorded a 4-3 win, this being only the second defeat in 19 games for leaders Three Horse Shoes. Old Liberal House are now on 105 points and have played one game fewer than the leaders, but they do remain 27 points adrift.
At the other end of the table Mile Oak Rovers, despite losing 4-3 at Tam O’Shanter move off the foot of the table and replacing them is Dolphin Inn, whose game with Wigginton was postponed.
Also on the agenda for the league was the final of their Paul Caswell Memorial Cup and finishing on the right side of the 4-1 scoreline was Three Horse Shoes with Three Tuns (Fazeley) runners up.

It was top versus bottom in the Rowley Monday Night League when leaders Bulls Head, Rowley, travelled to take on bottom of the table Moon Under Water. As expected the result was a clear cut 8-1 win for Bulls Head to keep them two points clear of the rest of the field on 32 points. The Bell kept within two points of the top team with a 6-3 win at Knights Quest, while former leaders Bull Terrier moved up one place to third with a resounding 8-1 home win over Timber Tree giving them 28 points, the same amount as fourth placed Ivy Bush ‘Z’, who won their away game with Rowley Olympic 6-3.

The Forest of Arden Summer League has got underway and in division one Highwood ‘A’ had a 5-2 win at Harvester, while in the second division there were 4-3 home wins for both The Crane and Sheldon Flights over respective opponents Chelmsley Town and Crown Arrows.
The league plus Riley’s Solihull will be staging their annual Open Knockout on Sunday 30th June at the club in Solihull. For a £5 entry fee the winner will receive a guaranteed £100. In addition to the main competition there will also be a first round losers knockout plus, depending on the number of entries a ladies knockout.

Wednesfield FC were the only losers in the top seven teams in the Tettenhall Wednesday Night league in week 15. Playing at home against second in the table Riley’s ‘A’, Wednesfield lost 4-3, this being only their second defeat in fifteen games, but it was enough to lose them the top spot and be replaced by their victors, who now with 28 points have a two points lead over Wednesfield FC, Riley’s ‘B’ and Whitmore Reans WMC.
In the battle between local rivals Otter and Vixen ‘A’ and ‘B’ the ‘B’ side came out on top with a 6-1 scoreline.

Second in the table Quarry Bank Liberal Club lost ground in the Cradley Tuesday Night League title race when they lost their home game with seventh placed Gate (Colley Gate) by 4-3, they are now four points adrift of leaders Brickmakers, who won 5-2 against Netherton Sports and Social ‘A’.
Victoria also dropped three places in the table to sixth after going down 4-3 at home to Jays Bar. Yeltz Bar and Swan were also 4-3 winners and are locked on 22 points in third and fourth places respectively.

Brickmakers ‘A’ and their close rivals Brickmakers ‘B’ are the top two teams in the Netherton Thursday Night League and in the latest round of fixtures both of them chalked up 5-4 wins, the ‘A’ away to Bulls Head ‘B’ and the ‘B’ at home to Fairfield. The ‘A’ side are top with 72 points, the ‘B’ trail with 57.
In the Shadow League Springfield Social Club lead the way on 24 points from 11 games, Bulls Head ‘B’ are second some three points behind and having played one game more.

The Pip Club League staged their Singles Knockout at the Pip Club and taking the honours was Martin Edwards from the Bulls Head, Polesworth, who beat Mark Martin (Dolphin) in the final. Losing semi finalists were, Alan Carter (Old Liberal) and Mark Stringer (Bulls Head, Polesworth).

At the halfway stage in the Small Heath League Gulp Tribe, who have lost just one of their 16 games are top with 30 points, four more than second placed Emerald Club, who in turn are four points ahead of Custard House, who are third.
At the foot of the table two teams are on 8 eight points, Redhill Wanderers and Custard House Flights, the latter holding the bottom spot with an inferior average.
The league have completed the preliminary round of their Divisional Cup in which Redhill Wanderers beat Cobs Bar.
