At the halfway stage of the season in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League Rugby lead the way on 81 points, but they are closely followed by last season’s runners up Coventry Bishopsgate, who are on 75 points, both teams having played eleven games. Reigning champions Leamington are currently lying in third position on 72 points, nine behind leaders Rugby, however, they do have a game in hand and a big win could see them take over pole position.
Nigel Heydon is having a good season, so far he has the highest game average of 41.75, has had four best weekly performances and shares the least darts of eleven with Paul Cummings and Jamie Atkins. The highest finish of 160 is held by Mike McFall and the best outshot of 160 goes to Rob Hawker and Mike McFall.

In the West Midlands Super League Tipton are once again in top spot, a position they appear to have made their own, having won the tile in excess of thirty times and have won it for the last 23 consecutive seasons. They lead the field on 80 points from an unbeaten nine games, with Darlaston in second place some 19 points behind.
In the ladies league Great Wyrley are the early pacesetters with 25 points from their opening five games. Wolverhampton, who have played one game more than Great Wyrley are second and three points adrift, with Darlaston third on 20 points.
Winner of this seasons men’s singles knockout was Ian Jones with Andrew Forrester runner up. The ladies title went to Heather Wright, who defeated Gemma Barrett in the final.

On a sombre note, sad to report the sudden death of John Cartmell, a regular and respected team captain and player in the Forest of Arden and Sheldon League. John, at the tender age of fifty passed away peacefully on the 31st December, he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Thoughts and sympathy go out to his wife Helen, his son’s and daughter.

The Forest of Arden / Riley’s Solihull Open monthly knockout for December was won by Tony Randell, who collected a cool £250, runner up Steve Gee received £100.

Belgrave Club, a seeded division two team, continue to impress in the Pip Club League, their latest fixture seeing them win 12-4 away to Gate Inn, which keeps them in the number one spot in the overall league table on 15 points. Dosthill Club kept the pressure on Belgrave with a 9-7 in their away tie with Sports Bar ‘180’ to leave them just one point behind Belgrave. A further one point adrift are Dolphin, who won 13-3 at Old Liberal Club and J.W.Belgrave Club, who hosted Two Gates Club and won 9-7.
In the seeded league tables, Dosthill head division one and have a one point lead over both Dolphin and J.W.Belgrave Club, but in division two Belgrave Club have a runaway lead of ten points over their nearest rivals Pip Club, although Pip Club do have a game in hand.
