In division one West Midlands travelled to take on Nottinghamshire, newly promoted from division two. The result was a 24-12 win for the hosts and West Midlands biggest defeat since losing 26-10 away to Oxfordshire in October 2010.
Both men’s teams lost, the ‘A’ 9-3, the highlight being the 30.43 average chalked up by Jamie Hughes, his second successive man of the match award and his second 30 plus average, the previous one being 32.85. The ‘B’ team lost 8-4, Richard Platt (27.83) their award winner.
The ladies ‘A’ had the best result of the weekend a 3-3 draw, while the ‘B’ team went down 4-2. The respective match award winners were Sarah Thornbury (22.10) and Heather Wright (18.04), both of them winners of the award in the previous game against Hampshire.
