Riley’s Castle Vale continued their winning run in group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League, extending the sequence to seven without loss after beating Iron Horse 5-3, keeping them four points clear of second placed Highwood Arrows, who lost ground in the title race after being held to a 4-4 draw by third in the table Crown at Olton.

Custard House ‘B’ fell further behind leaders New Firs Flights in group two when they suffered their first defeat of the season a 5-3 reversal away to fourth placed Pavilions. New Firs Flights won 5-3 at Old Bill and Bull and now have a two points lead.

The top two teams in group three, Shirley RBL Flights and EBAHA met on the formers board and the result was a 6-2 win for the hosts to give them 12 points, three more than George V ‘A’ who beat Ridgemere Flights 5-3 and have taken over in second place, EBAHA dropping one place to third.

Scanlons surprisingly dropped points in their tie at Custard House ‘A’, who are bottom of group four, the match finishing all square at 4-4. Scanlons now share the top spot with Langley Sports and Social who had a comprehensive 7-1 win at Willclare Sports and Social.

Group five leaders Centurion were also held to a 4-4 draw away to third in the table Highwood KB’s and have had their lead reduced to three points over Shirley RBL Misfits who beat Small Heath Amateur Gardeners 5-3.

It’s as you were in the Rowley Monday Night League, the top four teams all winning this week. Leaders Wilson Hall are now on 40 points after their 7-2 win at Ivy Bush ‘A’, while the Gate Hangs Well, who also won 7-2 at home to Timbertree are two points behind the. A further two points adrift are the Boat and ex-Serviceman’s who in turn accounted for Ivy Bush ‘Z’ 5-4 and the Bulls Head 7-2.

The Bell currently have a two points lead in the Shadow League over Rowley Olympic.

With Custard House having a free week in the Small Heath League, Emerald Club took full advantage taking over pole position in division one with a 5-4 win away to Scanlons, aided by a maximum score from N.Parsonage. Mitre had a 6-3 home win against bottom team Wagon and Horses to put them on the same 4 points as Custard House, both are two adrift of Emerald Club with a game in hand.

In the second division Midland Darts Centre took their winning run to four games with a 6-3 win over Cobs Bar and a two point’s lead at the top of the table. Sheldon Marlborough Flights are second in the table, their 6-3 win at the Clock leaving them just two points off the top with six points. Redhill Tavern were also 6-3 winners beating bottom of the table Custard House Flights who are yet to record a point.

Second placed Fox Flights gained an important win in division one of the Sutton and District Summer League, beating their nearest rivals Sutton Park Hotel 6-3. Both teams are now on 8 points, two short of leaders Sutton Sports, who chalked up a massive 8-1 home win over Anvil Nomads. However, Fox and Hotel both have a game in hand on Sports and should they both win it would make the title race very interesting.

The division two title appears to be a two horse race, an 8-1 win for Red Lion Flights puts them top of the pile with 14 points from 8 games, while second in the table Pint Pot Nomads won 6-3 at home to Oscott Social and they too have 14 points but have only played 7 games.

Drakes Drum march on in the third division, their 7-2 win at Pint Pot Arrows gives them a maximum 16 points from their 8 games plus a four points lead over second in the table Heartlands who have played the same number of games.

The Warley League have played off their Trebles Knockout and taking the honours were Cricketers Ian, comprising of I.Hebberts, P.Evans, R.Swindell and K.Baker. Runners up were Bell ‘A’ representative side M.Tibbetts, T.Brenan, B.Gillies and A.Lynch.

Losing semi finalists were, Cricketers Deano (M.James, E.Price, D.Fletcher, A.Forrester) and BrandhallLabour Club (Mick Ferney, Matt Ferney, Dan Ferney).
