Group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League produced a battle of the Riley’s in week three as leaders Riley’s, Castle Vale took on local rivals and bottom placed Riley’s Arrows. The result was a clear cut 7-1 victory for Castle Vale to keep them one point’s clear of second in the table Highwood Arrows, who also won their away game against Sheldon Dukes 7-1.

It was top plays bottom in group two as leaders new Firs Flights hosted Forget-Me-Not and won 7-1. After a 5-3 win at home over George V ‘A’, Shirley RBL Flights are clear leaders in group three now having a two point’s advantage over their opponents. EBAHA moved up into third place as they registered their first win of the campaign, a 6-2 success away to Maggies.

Scanlons are clear leaders of group four with a maximum six points following their 5-3 win at Langley Hall Sports and Social, while in group five only one leg of average separates Centurion and Highwood KB’s after Centurion beat Custard House Flights 6-2 and Highwood won 5-3 at Small Heath Amateur Gardeners.

Ridgemere Arrows have lost pole position in group six when they could only draw 4-4 at home to bottom team Ivy Leaf Flights. Greville Arrows had a 5-3 win at George V ‘B’ and as a result shoot up the table from fourth to top, with Meadway Sports and Social moving up from fifth to second after their 6-2 win at Ivy Leaf ‘B’.

TD Events latest New Mount Social Club Monthly Darts Evening saw Tony Randell beat thirteen years old Luis Barberan in the final of the Main Competition and then Randell went on to win the new Penalty Shoot-Out Feature Competition as he beat Paul Connolly in the final.

The 2-5-1 Feature event was won by West Midlands star Ian Jones, who took on Mike McFall in the final game.

The next monthly darts evening will be on Friday 13th July at the Ward End club.

The Pip Club League have been engaged in their Challenge Cup. The semi finals of the division one competition were both surprise results as league champions Red Lion lost out to Dolphin and in the other last four game J.W.Belgrave Club beat third placed Progressive Club.

The final was a victory for Dolphin.

In the second division semi finals there were no surprises as Royal Oak beat Two Gates Club and Sports Bar ‘180’ took out Travellers. The final also went to plan as Sports Bar ‘180’ beat Royal Oak.

Ladyboys have lost the top spot in the Camp Hill League after suffering their first defeat of the seven game season so far. Playing away to their nearest rivals Custard House, was maybe no great surprise that they lost, but the manner in which they lost was the big shock losing by a massive 6-1.

Forgers have taken over at the top of the table a 6-1 home win over Waggoners giving them 12 points from 7 games. Custard House and Ladyboys also have the same 12 points but trail on average, Custard House are now the only unbeaten team in the league and have a game in hand on both Forgers and Ladyboys.

The Small Heath League have had their End of Season 501 Knockout on the fixture card and winning the competition was Emerald Club representative Neil Parsonage. Neil’s final opposition came in the form of Glynn Thomas from the Custard House. Losing semi finalists were Matthew Cooper (Scanlons) and Colin Walsh (Mitre), whil Alan Whale (Custard House), Clive Austin (Mitre), Joe Fox (Emerald Club) and John O’Connor (Redhill Tavern) all made their exits in the quarter finals.

Wilson Hall made it fifteen wins from seventeen games in the Rowley Monday Night League when they won 6-3 at the Bulls Head. The win gives Wilson Hall 30 points, two more than their nearest rivals, Boat and Gate Hangs Well, who in turn beat Springfield Social 7-2 and Prince of Wales 6-3.

At the other end of the table the bottom two teams, Fairfield and Spring Meadow did battle, the outcome was a 7-2 win for Fairfield to give the a clear two points advantage over bottom placed Spring Meadow.

Week two in the Forest of Arden Summer League and in division one there are no fewer than five of the seven teams on two points. Second placed Old Bill and Bull have only played one fixture and so able to be one of only two teams to boast an undefeated record, the other team without a loss is Greville Arrows, who as yet have not played a game. From the pack of five teams with two points Crown Arrows have the better average and are in pole position, behind them come Old Bill and Bull, Riley’s Flights, Chelmsley Arrows and Harvester.

In division two Highwood KB lead the field with a perfect four points from two games, Highwood and Sheldon Flights each have two points from the one game they have played, but similar to division one there is one team who have not completed a game so far and they are Chelmsley Flights.

Sutton Sports consolidated their early lead at the top of division one of the Sutton and District Summer league with a 7-2 home win over Fox Flights. Sports now have the possible eight points from their opening four games. Second placed Sutton Park Hotel are the only other team with a 100% record, but they have only played two games so far. Fox Flights drop one place to fourth in the table.

Division two provided the shock of the week with leaders Old Oscott WMC losing their home tie with formerly bottom team Pint Pot Flights 6-3. Despite being their first defeat in four, Old Oscott WMC drop down to fourth place, this was Pint Pot Flights first win in five games.

Pint pot Nomads have taken over the top spot in division two after a 7-2 home success over Edington Arrows.

Drakes Drum made it three wins in as many games in division three when they beat Deer’s Leap Stags, who sere second in the division, 6-3. Stags first defeat has seen them drop two places to fourth.

A rearranged fixture was played in the Tamworth Sports Bar League in which champions Three Horse Shoes won 5-2 away to Boot Inn. Despite losing, Boot in have moved up the table to claim the runners-up place.

In the Teamsport Shadow Cup, Sports Bar had a final 5-2 win over Dolphin Inn to clinch the title.

The league also played off their Singles Knockout Mark Tomlinson (Three Horse Shoes), runner-up in the Players League went one better by beating Sam Whittaker to claim the singles crown.
