The Rowley Monday Night League has reached the halfway point of its season and the battle for the title is still wide open with only two points separating the top five teams.

A 5-4 home win in a rearranged fixture with Springfield Social plus 7-2 home win over the Bell in the scheduled league fixtures puts Wilson Hall in the driving seat with 26 points from the 15 games played. The following four teams are all locked together on 24 points with only average the difference between second to fifth places.

The Gate dropped from pole position to fifth after a 6-3 home defeat at the hands of the Ex-Serviceman’s team, who have moved up and are now in joint third with Ivy Bush ‘Z’ who had a 5-4 win away to the Timbertree. The Boat are currently second, a 5-4 win at Ivy Bush ‘A’ helping them to keep the pressure on the leaders.

The Forest of Arden Winter League have completed their season and the roll of honour reads as, Division One Champions: Riley’s Flights, Division Two Champions: Greville Arrows, Presidents Cup Winners: Riley’s Red Arrows, Consolation Cup Winners: Greville Arms, Division One Cup Winners: Old Bill and Bull, Division Two Cup Winners: Crown Arrows, League Cup Winners: Riley’s Red Arrows, Singles Winners:Men: B.Nixon, Women: R.Gwilliam, Doubles Winners:Men: S.Darby / D.Wright, Women: R.Gwilliam / P.Holmes, Mixed Doubles:Winners: Lesley Llewellyn / John Brown, Secretaries Cup:Winner: Andy Hawkins.

The Tamworth Sports Bar League played off the finals of their Andrew Evans Memorial Cup the semi final producing clear wins for Three Horse Shoes who beat Sports Bar 4-0 and Boot Inn who had a 4-1 win over Rugby Club.

The final was again a clear cut victory for Three Horse Shoes as they romped to a 4-0 win, ending a tremendous season where they have had a clean sweep winning all of the league’s team cups and also the league title.

Only one fixture remains to complete the season and although the title has already been decided, no fewer than three teams, Rugby Club, Sports Bar ‘180’ and Boot Inn are in with a shout for the runners up spot.

In the final games all three contenders for second place have away games, Rugby Club will play Sports Bar, Sports Bar ‘180’ will go to Globe ‘B’ and Boot Inn travel to Mile Oak Rovers.

Just one rearranged fixture played in the Small Heath League to complete it’s season ans that was between Emerald Club and Midland Darts Centre.

Emerald Club were the hosts and home advantage certainly seemed to be just that as they went on to win the game 7-2. The result sees Midland Darts Centre stay as they were in fourth place, while Emerald Club moved up to places in the table and finished the season in fifth position.

All league representatives should note that the league will be holding their next meeting on the 10th June and not as they originally stated on the 8th June.

Old Oscott Arrows have moved off the foot of the division one table in the Sutton and District Summer League after recording their first win in the opening three games of the season. Playing at home against the Leopard, their nearest rivals for the bottom spot, Old Oscott Arrows won 5-4, Leopard replace in the bottom place.

Sutton Sports made it two wins in as many games when they won 6-3 at Anvil Nomads.

In division two Red Lion Flights maintained their 100% run with a 5-4 away win over Pint Pot Flights giving them a perfect six points at the top of the table. Then comes three teams on 4 points, Erdington Arrows, Old Oscott WMC and Pint Pot Nomads, all three of them not only level on points but also on average.

Drakes Drum have taken over the lead of division three after handing out a 9-0 whitewash to Pint Pot Arrows. On the mark for Drakes Drum were C.Turnbull and K.Lumby, who each notched a maximum.

`The first round of the League Cup was the order of the day for the Camp Hill League and winning through to round two were Langley Lads, Redhill Tavern, Scruffy Ringers, Custard House, Devils Club and Roosters, who had a bye.

Losers from round one, Ladyboys, Crown Arrows, Langley Ladies, Royal George and Waggoners go into the hat for the first round of the Consolation Cup.

After completing 21 fixtures in the E.B.A.H.A. Double Top League, Neil Parsonage is top on 76 points, his nearest rival Martin Cooper is nine points behind and then comes Matt Cooper who has 65 points, however Matt has a game in hand on the two players above him. The title at this point looks as though it will be battled out between these three players.
