The latest of the New Mount Social Club monthly knockouts saw up and coming rising star Luis Barberan win the 501 Main Competition. The thirteen years old star came up against seasoned players throughout the event beating Michael McFall in the quarter finals and then booking his final place with a win over Matt Cooper.
From the other side of the draw emerged Adam Gallett, who from the last eight down recorded wins over Tom Fitzpatrick and Nick Fullwell, who had beaten West Midlands ace Ian Jones in the previous round.
The final saw Luis collect the winners £80 prize and Gallett collect £40 as runner up.
In the 301 Feature Competition Ian Jones and Nick Fullwell squared up to each other in the final, the former winning the knockout. Losing semi finalists were Chris McFall and Martin Yates who lost to Fullwell.
The next of the monthly knockouts will be played on the Friday 8th June at the club in St Margaret’s Road, Ward End, again with a guaranteed prize fund of £150 for an entry fee of just £5. Following their surprise win over long time leaders Mitre last week, Midland Darts Centre were bought back down to earth as they went down 5-4 away to Custard House, to finish fourth in the table, Custard House finished one place above them in third place with 28 points, four more than Darts Centre.
Scanlons 8-1 victory over shadow league winners Cobs Bar won the league title with 32 points, two more than their nearest rivals Mitre, who also finished the campaign on a high winning 6-3 at the Emerald Club to clinch the runners up spot.

On Sunday 10th June the Warwickshire Super League will be holding their AGM at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry. The meeting will get underway at 11.00am, all teams from the latest season and also prospective new teams must be in attendance. Any teams failing to attend the meeting will not be entered for the next season.
Any rule amendments must be in the hands of the secretary no later than seven days prior to the meeting.

Sutton Sports played their first fixture of the season in division one of the Sutton and District Summer League and chalked up a convincing 8-1 result over Old Oscott Arrows. It was also the first game for Anvil Nomads and they too won their opener, 6-3 away to The Leopard.
In division two Red Lion Flights made two wins in as many games when they won their home tie with Oscott Social 7-2. Keeping up with Red Lion are Old Oscott WMC, their second win coming in the shape of a 6-3 success over the division’s current bottom team White Lion.
Plough ad Barrows won their first game in division three a 7-2 home win over Heartlands, who won their first match against Pint Pot Arrows by the same scoreline.
Hitting a maximum this week were, A Lea (Old Oscott Arrows) and C.Packer (Fox Flights), S.Andrews, from Red Lion Flights produced a terrific 156 checkout.

The Forest of Arden Winter League’s season is fast drawing to a close and various finals are the order of the day, the latest being the men’s and ladies singles knockouts. Taking the honours in the men’s event was Bob Nixon and lifting the crown in the ladies competition was R.Gwilliam.

In the latest round of fixtures in the Camp Hill League Langley Lads suffered a crushing 6-1 defeat away to Custard House. The loss has seen Langley Lads lose the top spot and drop to fourth in the table, while Custard House have moved up one place to fifth in the table. Taking over pole position is Ladyboys, who made it four wins in a row when they won their home game with Devils Club 5-2.
Scruffy’s Ringers beat their opponents Sportsman Champs 7-0 to hang on to the number two spot on average from Forgers (who won 5-2 at Roosters), Langley Lads and Custard House, all four teams have six points and are two adrift of Ladyboys.

The Boat was rocked this week as they were knocked off the top spot in the Rowley Monday Night League after losing 5-4 at home to second in the table Gate Hangs Well. Boat drop to third while the Gate go top on 24 points from 14 games, however they have to keep an eye over their shoulders as Wilson Hall, who won 6-3 at the Prince of Wales are now just two points behind them with a superior average plus a game in hand.
On the same 22 points as Wilson Hall and Boat are Ivy Bush ‘Z’, who beat their local rivals Ivy Bush ‘A’ 5-4 and Ex-Serviceman’s who had one of the biggest wins of the week, an 8-1 home win over Hunting Tree. The Bell also won 8-1 as hosts to Golden Cue.

There was a top of the table clash in division one of the Pip Club League this week, leaders Red Lion travelling to take on second in the table Bulls Head (Polesworth). The result was a narrow 9-7 victory for Red Lion to put them a clear two points ahead of Bulls Head on 17 points.
In division two the top team Sports Bar “180” had a comfortable 12-4 home win against Two Gates Club, which has given them a slender one point advantage over Pip Club who were only able to draw 8-8 in their away game with next to bottom of the table Royal Oak. Spencer Hawksworth hit a maximum for Pip Club, as did Ron Hunt for third placed Travellers in their 10-6 win at Old Liberal Club, who are bottom of the table.
