This coming weekend Warwickshire will complete their 2011 / 2012 programme in the premier division of the Riley’s BDO Inter County Championships with an away fixture against Kent at the 6 in 1 Community Club, Tonbridge. Following a couple of excellent wins against Glamorgan and Essex Warwickshire are riding high in third place in the table, while their opponents are facing relegation as they are next to bottom in the table on 135 points, eight behind the nearest team Hampshire. A win for Warwickshire would see them finish in a very respectable position in the table. In division one West Midlands have a must win home game against Derbyshire. They are currently next to bottom team Bedfordshire, but with 144 points are one point behind London and only six points adrift of their opponents Derbyshire, so a win could be the difference between division one survival or relegation to division two.

In the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League Saltley Amateur Gardeners rounded off their campaign with a 6-3 home win over Sheldon Dukes to clinch the runners up spot behind Olton RBL, who although they had an inferior average to Saltley were two points to the good. Crown won their last game away to Iron Horse 7-2 and finished on the same 26 points as Saltley, average seeing them miss out on the second place.

New Firs Flights are champions of division one with 20 points, but it was oh so close as Pavilions won their final game at home to Yardley Ex Colts 6-3, had it have been 9-0 they would have taken the title on average, but as it turned out New Firs were two legs to the good.

Ridgemere Social are the division two champions, 31 points from 17 games with Castle Vale Residents Association second on 29 points from 18 games.

The third division title went to Shirley RBL Flights, who finished two points clear of runners up Langley Hall Sports and Social on 24 points.

The New Mount Social Club, Ward End again staged their monthly darts evening and winning the Feature Competition was young Luis Barberan, who beat the experienced Neil Parsonage in the final to take the winners £20 prize.

In the main competition Neil got his revenge as he took out Luis in the quarter finals, however he then lost in the semi’s to Adam Gallett. Adam went on to take the top prize of £80 with a final win over Matt Cooper, who collected £40 for his efforts.

The next darts evening will take place at the club on Friday 11th May.

In the first Riley’s Erdington Open Tony Randell is the first player to have his name on the silverware as he clinched the top prize of £120 with a final 4-1 victory over Ian McFarlane, who received £60.

Losing semi finalists Scott Wilson and John Speed, who lost to Randell, each picked up £35.

It was League Cup and Upside Down Cup semi finals for the Small Heath League. First the League Cup in which saw Mitre get off to a cracking start against Midland Darts Centre winning the opening five singles games to book their final spot, they eventually won 7-2, with B.Lysaght hitting a maximum.

The second semi saw the match between Emerald Club and Scanlons evenly poised at 2-2, but it was the latter who won four of the last five games to win 6-2. The final will now see league champions Mitre take on runners up Scanlons.

In the Upside Down Cup Custard House had a 6-3 win over Wagon and Horses and meeting them in the final will be Sheldon Marlborough Flights who had a close 5-4 verdict over Redhill Tavern.

It was cup finals week for the Four Oaks and District League. In the Coronation Shield M.Wild teamed up with M.Ashton for division one champions Sutton Sports and recorded a 160 break plus a 180, winning their game 3-0 and giving their team an unassailable 5-1 lead over the division one runners up Deer’s Leap, they went on to win 6-3.

The Norman Day Cup final saw second division White Lion take on division one outfit Old Oscott Arrows, the second division side racing to an unbeatable 5-1 lead and finish 6-3 winners.

Third division champions Drakes Drum completed a very successful season, after winning the title without conceding a single defeat and despite being outscored by Plough and Arrows they wrapped up the Third Division Challenge Cup title with a 7-2 result.

The Forest of Arden Winter League staged the quarter finals of their Consolation Cup and going through to the last four are Greville Arrows, Greville Arms, Old Bill and Bull and Highwood, who in turn defeated Highwood KB, Riley’s Wings, Chelmsley Town and Crown Arrows.

In the semi finals of the Tamworth Sports Bar League’s Charity Cup both games finished with 4-1 scorelines, Sports Bar “180” beating Wigginton and Three Horse Shoes taking out Mile Oak Rovers. The final was another 4-1 result, league leaders Three Horse Shoes defeating their nearest rivals in the league Sports Bar “180”.

A final reminder that the league are staging a 24 hours Dart-a-thon at the Dolphin Inn, New Street, Glascote, this coming Friday, with all proceeds going to McMillan Cancer Support and SSAFA.

After completing twelve fixtures only two points separate the top six teams in the Rowley Monday Night League. Leaders Wilson Hall had a vital 7-2 win away over Ex-Serviceman’s, who have dropped one place to fourth, while second placed Boat had a comfortable 8-1 home success against bottom of the table Spring Meadow. Wilson Hall and Boat are both on 20 points as are Ivy Bush ‘A’ and Gate Hangs Well.

Springfield Social had a 7-2 home win over Golden Cue, aided by a nine darts leg from Kalvin Chambers.

With the season fast drawing to a close Coventry Bishopsgate head the Warwickshire Men’s Super League table with 151 points from 21 games. Rugby and Leamington are both on 145 points, Leamington having played one game fewer than Rugby and the leaders. After the leading trio there is a gap of 20 points with Sutton Sports holding on to fourth place.
