In the latest round of fixtures in the BDO Inter County Championships Warwickshire did their hopes of premier division survival a power of good when they won their home game against Glamorgan 19-17. The win has lifted them two places up the table and given them a thirteen point’s advantage over next to bottom Kent.
Both of the men’s encounters finished all square at 6-6 with Jamie Atkins (27.00) taking the ‘A’ teams award and Mark Archer (28.36) the ‘B’s.
Trina Gulliver was in top form for the ladies ‘A’ recording the best average of the weekend, a tremendous 28.78 in her teams 3-3 draw. To make up the win the ‘B’ side won 4-2 with Kat Spanswick (17.15) their top player.

It was not such good news for neighbours West Midlands who travelled to the capital to take on London. However, a share of the spoils was better than nothing at all. In Saturday’s game the ladies went down 5-1, Lisa Maiden (15.55) their sole winner, while the men earned a 6-6 draw, Doug Thompson (27.83) their man of the match.
Sunday saw the ladies draw 3-3, Jackie Crew (17.48) their top player and the men had an 8-4 victory with Ian Jones in outstanding form as he chalked up a fabulous 31.34 average.

The Sheldon and District Winter League have been busy with the early rounds of their singles knockout, which they staged at two venues, Mackadown Sports and Social and Olton RBL. In a top of the table tussle in division one of the Four Oaks and District League Deer’s Leap took the last two games to beat Plough and Arrows 5-4 to put them two points behind leaders Sutton Sports, with a game in hand. Sutton Sports had a comfortable 8-1 win away to Pint Pot Flights.
An upset looked to be on the cards in the second division when leaders Red Lion Flights trailed 4-0 to fourth in the table White Lion, but Flights rallied and went on to win 5-4 to keep them two points ahead of Pint Pot Nomads, who are their opponents next week. Brookvale fought back from 4-2 to against Oscott Social Clarets to win 5-4 and Old Oscott WMC continued their winning strek with a 7-2 success over the Leopard.
Is anyone going to stop Drakes Drum in division three, an 8-1 win at Pint Pot Arrows took their unbeaten run to thirteen games and maintained their six points advantage over nearest rivals Erdington Arrows, who also won 8-1 at home to the Dragons.

Mitre and Scanlons held on to their four points lead at the top of the Small Heath League with respective wins over Cobs Bar (7-2) and Custard House (5-4). Custard House drop one place in the table to fourth, replacing them in third is Midland Darts Centre, who beat Custard House Flights 6-3.
In the charity match between the Small Heath League and the Gulp Charity team, the charity team were the 15-7 winners. All proceeds from the match went to the “Little Hearts Matter” charity.

J.W.Belgrave Club recorded their first win in six in division one of the Pip Club League. Playing at home against mid table Dolphin, J.W.Belgrave Club won 10-6, but nevertheless remain rooted to the foot of the table on three points. Birchmoor Club moved up one place to third from bottom after a surprising 9-7 victory over third in the table Progressive Club.
In division two it was top versus bottom when Pip Club took on Old Liberal Club. The result was a narrow 9-7 win for leaders Pip Club to keep them in pole position with 11 points, just one ahead of Travellers , who had a 12-4 home win over Two Gates Club.

No change at the top of division one of the Forest of Arden Winter League as the top thee teams all won. Top team Riley’s Flights won 6-3 away to Old Bill and Bull to give them 18 points. Two points behind Flights comes Riley’s Red Arrows, who also had a 6-3 win in their game hosting Sheldon Flights. Highwood, who are a further six points adrift of Arrows had a convincing 8-1 win at Harvester.
Greville Arms have lost ground in the division two title race after losing their last two fixtures. They followed up their 6-3 defeat at the hands of divisional leaders Greville Arrows with a similar 6-3 defeat at home to Highwood KB and are now four points off the top.

Wilson Hall after losing 6-3 against Ivy Bush ‘A’ last week, their first defeat of the season, were quick to respond as they handed out a 9-0 whitewash to Spring Meadow. Gate Hangs Well join Wilson Hall on 14 points with a 7-2 success at home to Rowley Olympic, then comes a bunch of three teams all on 12 points, Ivy Bush ‘A’, Timbertree and Ex-Serviceman’s. Timbertree and Ivy Bush ‘A’ both won 8-1 in turn against Boat and Bell, while Ex-Serviceman’s won 5-4 against Ivy Bush ‘Z’.

For the first time in fourteen games in the Camp Hill League Scruffy Murphy’s were able to boast a win Playing away against Roosters, Scruffy Murphy’s won 9-7, despite the win they remain rooted to the foot of the table. At the other end of the table leaders Sportsman had a comfortable 6-1 win at Waggoners to give them 24 points from 13 games. Second placed Custard House won their home game against Devils Club 5-2 leaving them two points behind the leaders and having played one game more.

There’s no stopping Three Horse Shoes in the Tamworth Sports Bar League, their latest fixture seeing them beat Globe ‘A’ 5-2 to take their unbeaten run to 14 games and extend their points advantage over nearest rivals Sports Bar ‘180’ to a massive 25 points. ‘180’ won their home tie with Three Tuns 4-3.
In the players league leader Trevor Barrs (Sports Bar ‘180’) continued his impressive form beating Martin Young (Three Tuns) to give him a total 42 points. Mark Tomlinson (Three Horse Shoes), who defeated Graham Gilliver (Globe ‘A’) provides the nearest threat to Barrs, but is nine points adrift.
