Saltley Amateur Gardeners won a crucial game in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League when they beat the Crown 6-3 to leap frog them into second place behind Olton RBL whose 5-4 win at Iron Horse have a six points lead over the rest of the field.
In division one Yardley Ex Colts dropped one place to third in the table after going down 6-3 away to leaders New Firs Flights. At the other end of the table Yardley Arms got their first points on the board with a 7-2 home win over Shard End Social, but they still remain rooted to the foot of the table.
There was a top of the table clash in division three, leaders George V returning from Shirley RBL Flights on the wrong side of a 5-4 result, however, they stay in pole position, but now only on average from their victors.

A new league has got underway, the E.B.A.H.A. Double Top League and the early pacesetter’s are Neil Parsonage and David Carter with a maximum 12 points from their opening three fixtures. Also on 12 points is Martin Cooper but he has played one more game more than Parsonage and Carter.
Four players have found the three treble twenties so far, David Carter, Matt Cooper, Neil Parsonage and Martin Cooper.

Congratulations to Matt Gallett on winning the Birmingham Tours 3rd Friday Knockout at the Lincoln Poacher, Acocks Green.
Matt began the evening with two straight 3-0 wins and followed that with a superb 3-1 victory over Warwickshire county player Prakash Jiwa. In the final Adam Smith-Neale provided the opposition, but the 5-3 verdict went in favour of Matt Gallett.

It was cup week in the Four Oaks and District League, first round one of the Coronation Shield in which both Sportsmans Rest and the Leopard in turn had convincing 8-1 over The Gate Inn and Deer’s Leap Stags. Pint Pot Nomads disposed of Oscott Social Reds 6-3, and league leaders Plough and Arrows lost by the same margin to Deer’s Leap. Fox Inn enjoyed another cup win beating Pint Pot Flights 7-2.
In the first round of the Norman Day Cup Boldmere Sports were top scorers with a 7-2 success against Erdington Arrows, Other winning teams going through to the next round were, Bishop Vesey, White Lion, and Old Oscott Arrows.

After completing just two fixtures in the Rowley League only six of the sixteen teams have 100% records. Ivy Bush ‘Z’ head the table by one leg of average over both Gate Hangs Well and Wilson Hall, with the Bell a further two legs adrift and Ex-Serviceman’s and Timbertree a further one leg behind.

Top met bottom in the Camp Hill League when leaders Forgers travelled to take on Scruffy Murphy’s, the result a resounding 7-0 victory for Forgers to give them 18 points from 11 games. Second placed Sportsman beat the Roost 6-1 and are on the same 18 points as Forgers, but with a game in hand.

The Forest of Arden Winter League have been engaged in the preliminary round of their Divisional Cups. In division one their were 7-2 wins for both Riley’s Flights and Old Bill and Bull, beating respective opponents Harvester and Sheldon Flights.
The division two games saw Chelmsley Town gain a narrows 5-4 win over Greville Arms, while Greville Arrows had a comfortable 7-2 win at Riley’s Wings.

Second in the Tamworth Sports Bar League table, Sports Bar 180 lost ground in the title race as they went down 4-3 to middle of the table Mile Oak Rovers. Leaders Three Horse Shoes marched on making it 10 consecutive wins by beating Globe ‘B’ 7-0.
Players League leader Trevor Barrs suffered his first defeat of the campaign losing to Jamie Hopkins.

Bulls Head (Polesworth), after beating Dolphin 10-6 in division one of the Pip Club League are the only undefeated team in the division after only three games. In the second division Travellers won 11-5 at Old Liberal Club and they are the sole team able to boast a 100% win record.

On the fixture card for the Small Heath League was the quarter finals of their League Cup. The Custard House hosted a double header and it was not a good night for either side as Custard House lost 6-3 to Scanlons and Custard House Flights were handed a 9-0 whitewash by Emerald Club.
Midland Darts Centre were the visitors at Redhill Tavern and they came through a tense a close game 5-4, while Wagon and Horses lost their home tie with league leaders Mitre by 7-2.
