Plough and Arrows, leaders in division one of the Four Oaks and District League suffered a set back to the title hops this week as they lost for the first time in ten games going down 5-4 away to Sportsmans Rest. The chasing pair of Deer’s Leap and Sutton Sports reduced the arrears to just two points with respective win over Old Oscott Arrows and Boldmere Sports.

In division two Pint Pot Nomads lost 5-4 at home to White Lion and are now level on 14 points with leaders Red Lion Flights, but Flights have a game in hand. The local derby between Oscott Social Clarets and Oscott Social Reds was closely contested and went to the wire with Clarets just getting the 5-4 verdict.

In division three top team Drakes Drum, and bottom half The Gate in turn both chalked up 9-0 scorelines against The Dragons and Deer’s Leap Stags. Drakes Drum stay top on 18 points with Erdington Arrows, who won 5-4 at home to Pint Pot Arrows, four points behind with a game in hand.

Just two second division games played in the Forest of Arden Winter League, Greville Arrows taking over pole position after a convincing 8-1 victory over Sheldon Arrows, while Chelmsley Town had a surprise 5-4 defeat at Riley’s Wings.

The last eight winners going through to finals night in the Camp Hill League are, Arturas Bogucianskas, Carl Betteridge, Carl Winters, Daryle Jelley, Dean Taylor, Glynn Thomas, Mark Elkin and Simon Winters.

In the Small Heath League, early season leaders Midland Darts Centre have now dropped to fifth in the table after going down 8-1 at home to current leaders Mitre. Mitre head the table on average from Scanlons who beat Emerald Club 7-2. In the mid table clash between Wagon and Horses and Redhill Tavern the former continued their recent good form to win 5-4.

The league will be staging a charity match against the Gulp Charity team at the Custard House, Bordesley Green, on Saturday 3rd March. Entry is free with all proceeds from the raffle going to The Little Hearts Matter charity.

Ivy Bush ‘Z’ got the new Rowley League season off to a fine start with an 8-1 home win over Rowley Olympic. Close behind with 7-2 wins were the Gate Hangs Well and Wilson Hall who in turn defeated Springfield Social and Fairfield.

In the Sheldon and District Winter League Highwood ‘B’ moved off the foot of the division two table with a very creditable 8-1 home win against Small Heath Amateur Gardeners, who have replaced them at the foot of the table.

There was a similar occurrence in the third division where Crown Arrows chalked up their second win of the campaign, a 6-3 home win over Ivy Leaf Flights. The two teams have swapped places, Crown move off the bottom, Ivy Leaf go bottom.

In the premier division Saltley Amateur Gardeners did their title hopes no good whatsoever as they lost their home tie with unbeaten leaders Olton RBL 5-4. Saltley are now six points adrift of Olton and two behind second placed Crown.

The Tamworth Sports Bar League staged the final of their Brian Spencer Memorial Cup and taking the title with a close 5-4 verdict over Rugby Club were the Three Horse Shoes.

The event raised £29 which will be handed over to the Guide Dogs For The Blind charity.
