Olton RBL, reigning premier division champions in the Sheldon and District Winter League have got the new season off to a cracking start having won all three of their opening fixtures. The latest success was a crushing 8-1 home win against Iron Horse to give them a maximum six points. Last seasons runners up, Saltley Amateur Gardeners suffered another early setback to their title aspirations as they went down 5-4 at the Crown, putting the Crown two points ahead of them and one place above them in the table in second spot.

It’s close in division three where no fewer than seven of the ten teams are on four points, George V leading the way with a superior average. However, newcomers Centurion, who are currently second in the table are the only team able to boast a 100% win record, they have played one game less than the other nine and a win in that game in hand would take them into pole position with a two points lead.

G.Bushell was the Clarets man to find the three treble twenties and for The Leopard it was C.Hill. The final score was a 6-3 win for the home side, Oscott Social Clarets.

The other maximum in the division was hit by Red Lion’s B.Hughes, Lion won the game against Old Oscott WMC 7-2.
