Following their 23-13 home defeat to reigning champions Yorkshire in the opening premier division fixture of the BDO Inter County Championships season, Warwickshire will this weekend travel to take on Oxfordshire at Riley’s Pool, Snooker and Darts Club, Cowley.
Resting at the foot of the table Warwickshire will have no easy task as their opponents are riding high in second place behind Yorkshire, but points are needed to lift them up the table.

The semi finals of the League Cup were the order of the day for the Forest of Arden Summer League and both games finished with a 5-2 scoreline. Neither of the games produced surprise results as Kenny’s Boys, who are currently bottom of division one, beat division two leaders Sheldon Arrows and in the all division one contest, Riley’s Flights, who are second in the table beat fourth placed Greville.

Three Horse Shoes, reigning champions in the Tamworth Sports Bar League are setting the pace once again. After two fixtures they are two points ahead of their nearest rivals Sports Bar 180, Shoes latest success being a close 4-3 verdict over St John’s Club, while 180 handed out a 7-0 whitewash to Wigginton.
In the players league, two players, Mark Tomlinson (Three Horse Shoes) and Trevor Barrs (Sports Bar 180) lead the field on maximum nine points, however, third placed Brian Bird, who is three points adrift of the leading dup has only played one game and would draw level with them should he win his game in hand.

In only the second game of the Sheldon and District Winter League’s season the top two premier division teams from last season squared up to each other and the result was a 6-3 home win for reigning champions Olton RBL over Saltley Amateur Gardeners to give them the early season lead.
In division two Castle Vale Residents Association and Custard House are dead level on points and average, while in division three just one leg of average separates Shirley RBL Flights and Greville Arms.

The final game of the season in the Small Heath League was a rearranged fixture between undefeated champions Mitre and third placed Emerald Club. With the runners up spot at stake Emerald started brightly taking two of the opening three game and went into the final two doubles game all square at 3-3. However, the Mitre were in no mood to lose their unbeaten run and won both doubles to clinch a 5-3 win and leave Emerald nursing third place behind Custard House. Mitre had a fantastic season winning all twelve of the games.

Lady Westminster got the new Camp Hill League off to a flying start as they handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their hosts Scruffy Murphy’s. Second best result was provided by the Forgers, who beat Devils Club 5-2. Sportsman and Waggoners had respective 4-3 wins over Custard House and Roost.
