The quarter finals of their Mrs F Richman Trophy was on the fixture list for the Sheldon and District Summer League and the biggest winners of the round were current group one leaders Bromford Bridge Exiles who won 6-1 away to bottom of the same group, Mackadown Social. In the other all group one clash second placed Iron Horse lost 5-2 away to third in the table Riley’s Arrows.

Top and bottom teams from group three met each other, leaders New Firs Flights winning 5-2 at Scanlons, while group two team Old Bill and Bull won 5-2 away to Castle Vale Residents Association from group three.

With the season fast drawing to a close the Mitre stretched their winning sequence to nine wins in as many games in the Small Heath League, when they handed out an 8-0 whitewash to their hosts Custard House Flights, dropping just two legs in the process. Mitre are now on 18 points, three clear and with a game in hand of second placed Emerald Club, who leapfrogged their opponents Custard House after a 5-3 home win over them.

In the other game played Redhill Tavern won 6-2 against the Devils at the St Andrews Tavern.

The Four Oaks and District League will be holding their first delegates meeting of the 2011 / 2012 season on Sunday 18th September at the Red Lion, Erdington commencing at 10.30am prompt. Delegates should note this meeting has been changed from the original date of the 25th September.

It’s getting tight at the top of division one of the Forest of Arden Summer League after leaders Riley’s Red Arrows lost for the second time this season in their latest game at Old Bill and Bull, who are third in the table. The 5-2 defeat has left Red Arrows on 12 points, but their local rivals, Riley’s Flights have now joined them on the same 12 points after their 5-2 home win over Greville.

It’s also close in the second division where Sheldon Arrows lead the field with 12 points, following their narrow 4-3 victory at Chelmsley Town, but Harvester, who won their home tie with Riley’s Mixed won 6-1 and are now just two points adrift of Arrows with a game in hand.

The Tamworth Sports bar League have got their new season underway and in the opening games reigning champions Three Horse Shoes won 5-2 as they played hosts to Globe ‘B’. However, the early pacesetters are Globe ‘A’ who won their home fixture with newcomers Moat House 6-1. The other new team to the league also suffered defeat, a close 4-3 away to St John’s Club.

In the players league there were wins for Mark Tomlinson (Three Horse Shoes), Brian Bird (Moat House), Trevor Barrs (Sports Bar 180), Grant Harris (Wigginton) and Nathaniel Bailey (St John’s Club).

Just one fixture was played in the Pip Club League and that was in division two where North Warwick Cricket Club lost 12-4 at home to Bolehall Swifts. The win has taken Bolehall’s points tally to 25, to go level with leaders Bulls Head (Polesworth), trailing only on average.
