Warwickshire County Darts Organisation go into their penultimate premier division fixture in the Rileys BDO Inter County Championships this weekend, an away game against Essex at the Chelmsford Social Club, Chelmsford, Essex. With the hosts second in the table and Warwickshire third from bottom, it’s going to be a tough game and with both teams requiring points for very opposite reasons it’s Warwickshire’s need that is more vital to keep them in the top flight.

It was cup week for the Four Oaks and District League, first the Coronation Shield which saw Sportsmans Rest ‘A’ come back from 4-2 down against Anvil Nomads in the quarter finals and snatch a 5-4 victory. Sportmans then went on to beat division one leaders Sutton Sports 5-4 after once again after trailing 4-2. In the other last four game Fox and Dogs secured the final place by winning the first five games against Pint Pot Arrows.
In the Norman Day Cup quarter finals Oscott Social Clarets had a comfortable 6-3 win over Royal Oak, while Old Oscott WMC and the Dragons both had close 5-4 wins in turn against Aston Social and Old Oscott Arrows.
In the semi’s it was 6-3 again for Oscott Social Clarets as they took out local rivals Old Oscott WMC, but the Dragons lost big style going down 9-0 to Pint Pot Flights, who had a bye in the previous round.

There was a shock this week for Emerald Club in the Small Heath League. Lying second in the table Emerald Club lost 5-4 at home to bottom of the table Hay Mills Social, this was Hay Mills first win in the eight games they have played so far. Emerald have now dropped to third place behind the Mitre who beat Wagon and Horse 8-1, Custard House continue to lead the field following their 5-4 win away to the Devils and are two points clear of both Mitre and Emerald Club, with games in hand.

It was second playing third in division one of the Sheldon and District Winter League as Iron Horse played hosts to Bagot Arms. The result was 5-4 to the home side to put them within one points of their opponents in third place, Highwood ‘A’ have a three points lead, plus a game in hand on the two teams.
In the premier division Old Bill and Bull were unable to take advantage of a home tie against leaders Olton RBL and lost 7-2, a win would have put them within two points of Olton with a game in hand, as it is they are now fourth in the table and eight points adrift.

As the Forest of Arden Winter League goes into it’s second half Riley’s Red Arrows head the division one table with 29 points, a lead of four on Riley’s Flights and Old Bill and Bull. In the second division it’s Sheldon Flights who are top, but currently just on average from Kenny’s Boys, however Sheldon have played one game fewer than Kenny’s.

Three Horse Shoes boosted their title hopes in the Tamworth Sports Bar League by handing out a 7-0 whitewash to third placed Hustlers to give them a total of 97 points. Second in the table Sports Bar 180 won 4-3 at Market Vaults and are now 14 points behind the Shoes.
In the player’s league Paul Whittaker is now the outright leader with 33 points, Mac Tarbuck is second on 30 points.
