Division one of the Four Oaks and District League produced a top of the table clash between leaders The Fox and second placed Sutton Sports. The match went to 4-4 with Sutton Sports winning the decider and the match 5-4 to take them back into pole position level on points with The Fox with a better average plus a game in hand. Third placed Boldmere Sports found themselves trailing 4-1 at home to fourth in the table Old Oscott Arrows, but came back to win 5-4 to leave them just two points off the leading duo.

Pint Pot Flights did just enough to keep their 100% win record intact in division two when they narrowly beat Grave Diggers 5-4, while Anvil Nomads had a convincing 8-1 home win over Royal Oak to remain in second place. Oscott Social Clarets opened up a 4-1 lead over White Lion Barrels only to lose 5-4 and put a damper on their promotional hopes.

Third division leaders The Red Arrows came back from 4-3 down away to Oscott Social Reds to win 5-4, but the highlight and shock of the week goes to second from bottom The Gate who beat second in the table Brookvale 5-4despite a 180 from the losers J.Yates. Brookvale are now four points adrift of leaders.

Cup matches were on the agenda for the Sheldon and District Winter League, round one of the Punch Bowl. Biggest winners were Iron Horse and Saltley Amateur Gardeners, who in turn beat Highwood ‘B’ and Scanlons 8-1. Others winners to go through to round two were, Yardley Ex Colts, Holy Souls, Maggies, Crown, Kingshurst and District Labour Club, Ivy Leaf, White Hart, Willclare Sports and Social, This is Darts, Sheldon Dukes, Olton RBL, Glebe Community Association and Bagot Arms.

A.Hinton (Stechford Social) had a 160 break and there were maximum scores from Yardley Arms man M.Shellis and C.Sadler of Meadway Sports and Social.

One late result from the premier division saw Crown win 6-3 away to the Red Lion.

Neil Parsonage is the new winner of the Small Heath Singles competition. Neil, from the Emerald Club beat Custard House Flights representative Paul Webster in the final. Losing semi finalists were Liam Fox and Peter Yardley, both from the Emerald Club.

League Cup finals were the order of the day for the Tamworth Sports Bar League. In the semi finals Sports Bar 18 had a close 4-3 verdict over Mile Oak Rovers, while league leaders Three Horse Shoes had a comfortable -2 success against Riftswood.

The final saw Three Horse Shoes go into a winning 4-2 lead to claim the silverware.

The Forest of Arden Winter League produced a right royal battle when the two top teams Riley’s Red Arrows and Riley’s Flights, both undefeated, met each other. The result was a 7-2 victory for Red Arrows to give them a perfect total of 20 points from ten games. Flights remain in second place now four points behind but with a game in hand.

Bottom of the table Greville Arms chalked up their first win in nine and the first of the season by beating middle of the table Sheldon Flights 5-4.
