It was not a good start to the New Year for Warwickshire who with just one win in four games travelled north to take on Lancashire in their fifth premier division fixture of the campaign and ended with four disastrous results. The men’s ‘B’ without a victory so far this season went down 10-2 with Dave Sanders (26.50) their man of the match. The ‘A’ side didn’t fair much better as they finished on the wrong side of an 8-4 result with Nigel Heydon (30.17) their top man.
The ladies are not having the best of seasons either as both teams lost heavily by 5-1. For the ‘A’ the result was compounded by the defeat of Trina Gulliver, her first defeat since September 2009 and only her second reversal in 106 games. Match awards went to ‘A’ Denise Burke (16.34) and ‘B’ Angela Jones (17.24).
