Warwickshire played fixture number four in the premier division of the Riley’s BDO Inter Counties Championships, a home tie against Cambridgeshire and recorded the first victory of the season so far 20-16 . Top man Tom Ryan (29.02) helped the men’s ‘A’ side to a cracking 9-3 win, while Steve Giddings was the man of the match for the ‘B’ which ended all square at six each.
The ladies ‘A’ are still looking for their first points of the season as they slipped to their fourth consecutive defeat 4-2 with as the norm Trina Gulliver (25.91) taking the match award. The ‘B’ team had a very creditable draw, coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 and then end up at 3-3, Kim Morris (17.68) being their top player.
