In the third premier division fixture of the Riley’s BDO Inter Counties Championships Warwickshire travelled north to take on Cheshire, however, their journey did not produce the first win of the season they so badly needed.
It was losses all round as the men’s ‘A’ went down 9-3 and the ‘B’ 8-4, while the ladies both finished on the wrong side of a 4-2 result. Match awards went to Prakash Jiwa (‘A’ 26.85), Jamie Atkins (‘B’ 29.24), Trina Gulliver (‘A’ 27.33) and Wendy Adams (‘B’ 16.94). The result has seen Warwickshire drop to the foot of the table on 39 points, seven adrift of both Glamorgan and Cornwall.
