After a disastrous 28-8 defeat in their opening game away to Yorkshire in the premier division of the Riley’s Inter Counties Championships, Warwickshire bounced back with a more respectable 18-18 home draw against Surrey. Bob Nixon (28.13) lead the way in the men’s ‘A’ side’s 7-5 win, while for the second successive game Jamie Atkins (27.46) took the ‘B’ teams award in their 6-6 draw.
The ladies ‘A’ once again lost 5-1, Trina Gulliver (24.64) yet again the sole winner. The ‘B’ side won 4-2 with Wendy Adams taking the match award with a 16.91 average.
In division one West Midlands took a nose dive after their curtain raising 19-17 win over Middlesex as they finished on the wrong side of a 26-10 result away to Oxfordshire. The men’s ‘A’ remain undefeated as they ended the day all square at 6-6 with Andy Forrester (26.90) their top man. The ‘B’ suffered a massive 10-2 defeat with Martin Angell (23.48) claiming the man of the match award and Viv Gould (22.13) their only other winner. The ladies ‘A’ were handed a 6-0 whitewash and the ‘B’ went down 4-2 with Diane Tolley (17.23) the top player.

The Forest of Arden Winter League staged their Knockout Cup finals and in the semis, division one leaders Rileys Flights accounted for Sheldon Flights with a crushing 7-0 victory. The second semi was much closer with second in the first division table Old Bill and Bull just getting the 4-3 edge on third placed Riley’s Red Arrows.
As expected with the league’s top two teams facing each other in the final it was again another close verdict, but it was Riley’s Flights who got the 4-3 result and the title.

Week three of the Sheldon and District Winter League season and in the premier division the early pacesetters, have been ousted from the top of the table. Former leaders Red Lion were beaten 7-2 away to Pavilions and have dropped to fourth place, while Kingshurst Labour Club, who were second in the table went down 5-4 at home to Saltley Amateur Gardeners and are currently in fifth place.
In division two three teams, Willclare Sports and Social, This is Darts and Shard End Social all have 100% wins record in their first three games. Fourth placed Forget-Me-Not are also unbeaten but no result card has been received at the time of print for their game against Sheldon Social.
On the individual scene there were maximum scores for T White, T.Webster (Saltley Amateur Gardeners), R.Lucas (Old Bill and Bull), a 160 break for M.McGinn (This is Darts), and an eleven darts leg for S.Ollerenshaw (Redhill Tavern).

With Red Lion having a bye in division one of the Pip Club League, Birchmoor Club have taken over pole position following their 13-3 win over Three Horse Shoes. Red Lion are just one point behind Birchmoor with a game in hand.
Sports Bar 180 lead the way in the second division, a 10-6 win at Bolehall Swifts giving them 21 points from 12 games. Second in the table Two Gates Club won their home tie with Old Liberal Club 9-7 and are level on points with Sports Bar having played one game fewer.
