With Robbie Earl not playing this week in the thisisdarts.co.uk Individual League Adam Gallett has leapfrogged him to take over the number two spot. Although Gallett went down 2-1 to Colin Mace he stormed back with 3-0 wins over Stuart Bliss and Rick Barberan to amass 137 points, 26 adrift of leader Ian McFarlane, who added two more wins to his tally, a 2-1 success against Matt Gallett and a 3-0 win over Blane Homer.

Notching 180’s this week were, Adam Thomas, Ian McFarlane, Kristian Green, Mark O’Donnell and Mark Elkin.

After suffering his first defeat of the season in the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League last week, a 2-1 reversal against Chris John, Bob Nixon returned to winning ways in the latest round of fixtures with 2-1 victories against Pat Sinnett and Mark Gwalchmai to give him a total of 70 points. Andy Hutchings, with straight 3-0 wins over Karl Attwood and Tim Lowe has now moved to within just one point of Nixon and opened up the tile race.

Top five players Tony Randell (third) and Lee Harris (fifth) with involved in a thriller, both players hitting a maximum as the vital 2-1 result went in Randell’s favour.

On the fixture card for the Sheldon and District Summer League has been the second round of their Mrs F.Richman Trophy. Biggest winners of the round were Kingshurst Labour Club who beat their rivals Holy Souls 6-1. No fewer than five of the other six played finished with 5-2 scorelines the winners being Bagot Arms, Pavilions, Olton RBL, Red Lion and Riley’s Arrows, who in turn defeated Ridgemere Flights, Scanlons, Redhill Tavern, Highwood ‘A’ and Custard House ‘A’.

On the league front there was just one re-arranged fixture from group four where Highwood ‘B’ beat Yardley Ex Flights 6-2.

In division one of the Pip Club League Birchmoor Club have lost pole position when the best they could do in their away game with Sports Bar was force an 8-8 draw. Taking over at number one is Red Lion who had a 10-6 victory in their away game against Kettlebrook Club and now lead Birchmoor by one point.

In the second division leaders Sports bar 180 had a convincing win as they handed out a 160 whitewash to their hosts Progressive Club.

The fight for the top spot in the Small Heath League continues as leaders Mitre win 5-4 at Redhill Tavern and second placed Devils won by the same margin at the Emerald Club. Both teams are locked on ten points from six games with just average separating them.

On the individual scene Mitre’s Dave Lacey was in fine form hitting a maximum, 140, 2×100 plus a 120 checkout.

The Tamworth Sports Bar League have been engaged in their Tamworth Sports Bar Summer Charity Cup. Round one saw wins for Sports Bar 180, Globe ‘A’, Pip Club and Three Horse Shoes. In the last four play-offs Sports Bar 180 beat Pip Club 4-2 and Three Horse Shoe won 4-3 against Globe ‘A’, the two winners will now face each other in the final on the 14th September at St Johns Club.

A total of £47 was raised on the evening, which will be added to the finals night total and handed over to the Midland Air Ambulance.
