This coming Sunday the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry, will be playing hosts to the regional play off for the BDO British Champions Cup. Teams lining up for the men’s knockout will be, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire. The ladies title will be fought out between just three teams, Leicestershire, Warwickshire and West Midlands.

Registration will take place at 11.00am with match play commencing at 12noon.

Cup matches were on the agenda for the Pip Club League this week, preliminary rounds in both the divisional cups and 180 competitions. In division one Birchmoor Club beat North Warwick Cricket Club in the divisional cup, while in the 180 knockout Belgrave Club defeated Three Horse Shoes.

The division two cup saw Bolehall Swifts and Queens Head in turn progress into the next round at the expense of Pip Club and Bull (Polesworth). Sports Bar 180 and Old Liberal Club won through in the 180 competition with Two Gates Club and Progressive Club making their exits.

Emerald Club lost ground in the title race in the Small Heath League this week going down 6-3 at home to leaders Mitre. As a result Emerald have dropped one place in the table to fourth, being replaced at number three by Redhill Tavern who had a 6-3 home win over Custard House. Second placed Devils kept the pressure on the leaders with a 5-4 win against Wagon and Horses and trail the leaders only on average.

St Johns Club dropped further behind leaders Three Horse Shoes in the Tamworth Sports Bar League when they returned from Sports Bar 180 on the wrong side of a 4-3 result. After a convincing 6-1 home win over Wigginton, Three Horse Shoes now have a massive 20 points lead over the rest of the field.

Globe ‘B’ moved away from the foot of the table with their second win of the season a 4-3 success at Pip Club.

In the players league former leader Mac Tarbuck lost out to his nearest rival Clyde Hooper and with Richie Baker beating Mick Bagley, Hooper, Tarbuck and Baker are all level on 18 points, with Baker having a game in hand on the other two players

It has been a bad week for Adam Gallett in the thisisdarts.co.uk Individual League, losing both of his games and dropping one place in the league table to third. Gallett lost his first game against Robbie Earle 3-0 and then went down 2-1 to Adam Thomas. Earle has taken over the number two spot despite losing his other game 3-0 to leader Ian McFarlane. McFarlane won his other fixture against Jason Evans 2-1 and now has a huge 16 points cushion between him and Earle.

Five recorded maximums this week, supplied by, Adam Thomas, Jason Evans, Tony Comerford, Colin Mace and Luis Barberan.

The Doubles Knockout was the order of the day for the Gulp League and taking the honours were Martin Cooper and Ross Macken who had a final straight 2-0 win over Pete Yardley and Mick O’Sullivan. Losing semi finalists were P and N McCrave plus John O’Connor and Roy Cooper.

There was a shock for Sheldon Arrows in division two of the Forest of Arden Summer League as they lost their home game against Kennys Boys 5-4. This was Sheldon’s first defeat in the opening five games of the season, however they hang on to pole position still two points clear of Highwood and Old Bill and Bull Flights.

In the first division Rileys Flights extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 6-3 win at the Harvester.
