In group one of the Sheldon and District Summer league leaders Bromford Members Club Exiles dropped their first points of the season when they were held to a 4-4 home draw by their nearest rivals Olton RBL, but nevertheless remain one point ahead of the field.
In group three Pavilions lost their 100% win record going down 5-3 at home to Scanlons, while it was Shirley RBL Flights in group five who had a similar fate in their game at Willclare Sports and Social. After winning their opening two games in group six Shirley RBL Misfits lost in big style as they were handed a massive 7-1 home defeat by leaders Garretts Green Social.

Ian McFarlane was in great form this week in the thisisdarts Individual League beating Sean O’Donnell, Mark O’Donnell and Mark Elkin 3-0. Against Sean Ian hit an amazing 10×100 and followed that against Mark with 6×100 and two maximums, he then had top shots of 2×140,137,125,4×100 and a 14 darts leg against Elkin. Another high scoring game was that between Darren Whitehouse and Kristian Green in which Whitehouse had scores of 2×140,125,3×100 plus a 102 checkout, while Green recorded shots of 140,125,121,4×100 and a 180.
Robbie Earle stays second in the table with the 2-1 beating of Steve Cousins and a 3-0 success over Terry Blakemore.

A final reminder that this coming Friday, TD Events are presenting an exhibition evening with former world champion Bob ‘The Limestone Cowboy’ Anderson in the Grand Marquee at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. Tickets are only £15 per person or £130 for a table of 10 and includes food platter per table of chicken, scampi and chips plus table drinks service. Preceding the exhibition there is a Twenty20 match with the Bears taking on the Worcestershire Royals.

Is anyone going to stop the charge of Bob Nixon in the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League. This week he made it 15 consecutive wins when he added another two 3-0 wins to his tally beating both Paul Sunner and Luke Coles. Nixon now has dropped just two legs in those 15 games and his 43 points give him a six points lead over second in the table Andy Hutchings, who won 3-0 against Jack Sidwell jnr and 2-1 in his tie with Tony Daley.
Fourth placed Lee Harris lost ground when he lost his first game in 13 a surprising 3-0 defeat at the hands of middle of the table Jim Norris.

The preliminary round of the Knockout Cup was on the fixture card for the Forest of Arden Summer League, only two games saw division teams take on division two opponents and in both cases it was wins for the top teams, Old Bill and Bull beating Kenny’s Boys 6-1 and Harvester winning 5-2 against Riley’s Mixed.
Other teams going through to the next round are Hobs Meadow, Rileys Flights and Sheldon Arrows.

Keith Haddon hit a maximum for J W Belgrave Club in division one of the Pip Club League as they went on to win 12-4 at Three Horse Shoes. In the second division Queens Head won their home tie against bottom of the table Progressive Club 14-2 and G. Day recorded a 180 for the winners.

Mitre and Devils are battling it out for pole position in the Small Heath League with the former just having the slight edge on average after their 7-2 win against Wagon and Horses and the latter only winning 5-4 at the Custard House. M.Fowle hit a 180 for Mitre.

In the Tamworth Sports Bar League this week, Paul Thompson (Globe ‘B’) notched a 180 despite his side going down 4-3 at Wigginton. Leaders St Johns Club’s Alan Carter chalked up the highest finish of the season so far120 as his team won 5-2 at Mile Oak Rovers.
In the Players League, Clyde Cooper has lost pole position after losing out to Mark De Leon and taking over the number one spot is Mac Tarbuck, who beat Wayne Deeley, Tarbuck now on 18 points is three clear of second placed Hooper/
