The final game of the season in the Riley’s BDO Inter Counties Championships did not bring a good result for West Midlands however, despite the adverse result the outcome could not have better as they ended their campaign in division two with a home tie against Devon and finished on the wrong side of a 19-17 result, but it was not all bad news as the teams below them also lost and they took the runners up spot and won promotion together with London to division one next season.
Top players for the West Midlands were Ian Jones (30.68) men’s ‘A’, Trevor Carter (26.37) men’s ‘B’, Diane Tolley (16.16) women’s ‘A’ and Kim Fellows (15.99) women’s ‘B’.
